Did you know that Nativity has an electronic giving option?

We contract with Vanco, an e-giving company endorsed by the ELCA, to provide an easy option for your offering.

Vanco allows you to set up auto-payments, so you never have to worry about sending in your offering when you're on vacation or forgetting your checkbook.

Auto-payments also help us keep our ministries running steadily here at Nativity.

Like putting something in the offering plate? Good news!  Soon, we'll have e-giving cards in the pew racks, so that you can indicate your offering physically during worship.

To sign up for e-giving, click  here.  If you'd like to learn more about e-giving, please email our Financial Secretary,  Carrie Dahlberg,
here.

This Sunday we welcome THE STRINGED INSRUMENT GROUP! This group of musicians and vocalists set the Word of God to music through well-known hymns and classic secular songs.  They strive for a traditional Appalachian sound while celebrating a rich history of singers and songwriters.  The group will meet seasonally for special music and services at Nativity.  They are always looking for talented folks to join the group for their next ministry opportunity or to simply pick and sing. Contact Paul Calderone at  [email protected]  for more information on meeting times and how to join!

Why
do we do
that?

Have you ever had a question about something we do in church, but weren't sure whom or how to ask?  This feature is for you!

The goal of this portion of the
e-news is to provide a safe space for questions to be answered and provide more information for everyone's benefit.

This week's question asks about the covering of the flagon (the pitcher in which Communion wine is presented).  Click  here  to read the answer.

If you have a question you would like to have answered,  p lease submit your question  by  clicking here .

Jesse Michael Canniff-Kuhn
will be ordained to the Ministry of Word and Sacrament on Monday,
September 4, 2017, 2:00 p.m.
at the Lakeside Cross at Lutheridge.

The address is 2511 Hendersonville Road in Arden, NC 28704.  If the weather is uncooperative we will relocate to the Lutheridge Chapel.  Once inside the gate, proceed up the hill and there will be a sign with arrows indicating where to go.

Your prayers and presence are requested. A light reception will follow the service at Lakeside Lodge. Because we will be outside and it will likely be hot, all rostered ministers are invited to sit where they please and simply bring a stole to put on for the Laying on of Hands. Red is the color of the day.

Jesse has accepted a call to serve as Pastor at Lutheran Church of Our Father in Greensboro, North Carolina.

Veterans Restoration Center

Thanks to the generous support of Nativity members, a hot meal is provided monthly by a Nativity Cook Team to over 150 veterans who are on their way towards building a better life. This program is provided by the Veterans Restoration Center and supported by churches throughout Asheville including Nativity!  What a wonderful way to say thank you to veterans who have served our country so honorably and ably throughout the years.
