On December 12, the Congressional Sportsmen's Foundation (CSF) joined several regional and national recreational fishing organizations in opposing a petition currently under consideration by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Fisheries to list the Pacific bluefin tuna as endangered under the Endangered Species Act (ESA). The petition, which was submitted to the Department of Commerce and NOAA earlier this year by several environmental organizations, seeks to ban recreational and commercial fishing for Pacific bluefin tuna in the United States Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ)...

Colorado: Sportsmen's Groups Support Research Proposals
Last week, the Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW) Commission voted unanimously to study wildlife dynamics in two areas of Colorado where mule deer populations have declined from historic levels. Consistent with the North American Model of Wildlife Conservation's recognition that science is the proper tool to discharge wildlife policy, these research projects will now move forward with the goal of better understanding factors that may be limiting ungulate populations in certain areas of the state...

The Congressional Sportsmen's Foundation (CSF) and the Ruffed Grouse Society (RGS) signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for the shared goals of the two organizations to advance science-based wildlife management, wildlife conservation, and the sportsmen's heritage...
CSF is currently accepting applications for the Brad Rowse Fellow Internship Program. Brad Rowse Fellows at the Congressional Sportsmen's Foundation (CSF) will have the opportunity to learn the importance of the policy process related to hunting, angling, recreational shooting, trapping, and other conservation issues impacting sportsmen and women. This is a paid internship with a stipend of up to $1000 a month, and academic credit is strongly supported.
The Dallas Safari Club and the Congressional Sportsmen's Foundation's Board of Directors will host a Chairman's Club reception benefitting the Congressional Sportsmen's Foundation. For more than 15 years, DSC has been a strong advocate in supporting CSF's mission to work with Congress, governors, and state legislatures to protect and advance hunting, angling, recreational shooting and trapping.
Founded in 2013, the Chairman's Club provides recognition for individuals who philanthropically support CSF with an annual gift of at least $1,000 per year.
