Thank you to everyone who donated to our School Supply drive. Because of you we will be bringing 50 backpacks FULL of notebooks, pens and pencils, erasers, markers, colored pencils and more to children in Woonsocket this weekend!  Special thanks to Mary Hassan for once again organizing this awesome effort AND to our friends at We Share Hope!  The people of St. James provided donations of the supplies as well as over $175 to purchase items.  God is Good!

  

Mary Hassan & Dawn DiFruscio are leading the August runs of Loaves & Fishes RI and are looking for volunteers to help out with the following dates:

 

Saturday, August 12 - To Woonsocket

Prep begins at 10:30, the truck leaves at noon. 

 

Sunday, August 13 - To Providence

Prep begins at 10:30, the truck leaves at noon.

 

Wednesday, August 16 - To Providence

Prep begins at 4:30, the truck leaves at 6pm.

Crossroad Financial Associates of Thrivent is sponsoring a team for the Sept. 23, 2017 St. Jude 5k Walk/Run for cancer in Boston and we'd like you and your church members to join us for free!

 

We are looking for walkers, runners, volunteers and donations. As you may or may not know, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital is paving the way in ending childhood cancer. Families NEVER receive a bill for services rendered to their children, but that doesn't mean it isn't costly.  CLICK HERE for more information about to how to sign up for this event.

It's that time of the year when I start making jams for the Great Yard Sale.  Since we always do well, I'll be making as much as I can of hot pepper jam, strawberry, strawberry/rhubarb, blueberry, orange marmalade, peach marmalade, apricot marmalade, grape, cherry, tripleberry and other concoctions I can come up with.  So again this year, I ask is you can bring any empty jelly jars (8 oz. or 4 oz.) to the church and leave them in the office.  Also, if you have any extra rhubarb growing, I'd appreciate that now.  I would also love if you have any lightweight fabric suitable to use as coverings on jars, and season laying around (do not buy).  Other veggies or fruits I will use include: red bell peppers, Jalapeno peppers, strawberries, blueberries, oranges, peaches, apricots, cherries, Concord grapes, plus anything you suggest.  If you grow these in your garden, please save a little for me.
