A NOTE FROM MRS. RYAN
Dear Parents,

I am very pleased to inform you that we have hired a wonderful new 6 th grade teacher.  Her name is Lisa Wespiser (sounds like wes-pi-zer).  Lisa has a wealth of teaching experience in both Catholic and public schools. She recently completed an assignment at Sebastopol Charter School, which is a school in the Waldorf tradition. Ms. Wespiser excels in creating caring, cooperative classroom communities and is skilled in all areas of the curriculum, including fine arts. She is very excited to work at St. Rose where she can share her faith with our students. The 6 th graders and their parents have already been notified and are excited about welcoming Lisa into our school community.

If you are a St. Rose parishioner you will be very sad to learn that Fr. Thomas Devereaux died last week. Fr. Tom was semi-retired but still quite active in the parish.  He celebrated Mass at school with us several times a year.  He was very encouraging of the altar servers and always had interesting stories to tell them.  FR. Tom helped us all to know a God who is loving and forgiving.  He served the Church well for many years and it is comforting to know that he is now enjoying new life with God.  I understand that Fr. Tom considered the five years he spent at St. Rose Parish among his happiest.  His funeral Mass will take place next Wednesday, August 16th, 6:30 PM at St. Rose Church.
