When musicians act together, we're powerful. And now is the time to make our voices heard. The Sept. 12 primary election is coming up fast. Will you help us fight for candidates who support artists and all working people in New York City? Local politics are where our voices are heard loudest...but only if we participate!

REMEMBERING 9/11
This fall is the 16th anniversary of 9/11, which will be marked by a special ceremony. The names of all of those who came to help after the attacks and who have since died will be called out loud. This includes musicians.
The Calling of The Names Ceremony will be on Monday, Sept. 11 at 4 p.m. at St. Paul's Chapel, bordering the northeast side of the World Trade Center complex on Broadway between Vesey and Fulton. Just like last year, musicians are welcome to participate. Please click hereto send an e-mail for more information. The event web site will be available
here.
If you know the names of any 9/11 responders (including musicians) who are now deceased, please submit the names here so they can be read out loud at the ceremony.
The singer Barbara Cook died yesterday (Aug. 8) at the age of 89. Many Local 802 members performed with Ms. Cook over the years. If you're one of them, share your favorite memory of her by clicking here. We'll contact you later to see if we can publish your reminiscences in Allegro magazine.
