Let's not forget we have a full month of summer to enjoy... BUT it is "planning season" before Labor Day comes and we feel the stress of another school year!

Well done to all our Scozzie crew who fought so hard in the Newport Steamer Gold. The event was almost "JCT strong" and both Lyall and Mick were proud of the standard of Scozzie play and sportsmanship! You can read Lyall's report below.
Reminder of THE BIG THING FOR AUGUST!
Plan for the season! Lyall and I, along with all the Scozzie Coaches have put aside big blocks of time in August to meet with Parents to assist in the planning of the coming squash season.
What tournaments should your child play? What ranking and rating goals are appropriate? Recommendations for lessons and coaches... explanations of our Strength and Conditioning Programs, the Scozzie Academy Select (SAS) - and any of your questions, all explained from the top down.
The Scozzie Academy Select continues next Monday. Registrations are tight and limited to the top rated 10 boys and girls! Email Lyall to reserve your place.
Finally, we have scheduled a Parent Information Evening for Monday 21st. RSVP below and I would ask that all Scozzie Parents attend. We will likely have another opportunity later in the month, but there is a lot of new programming on the horizon and the coaches and myself want to make sure everyone is at home with the changes and additions.

"The famous Newport Steamer event returned to the US Squash calendar for the first time since 2015. The highly popular event was held between Portsmouth Abbey and St Georges around the highly illustrious town of Newport. The total entry was close to 300, the largest number of participants at a Gold event in 2017 and after a huge summer of competition, this tournament was the penultimate summer gold for the new 2017/18 season. Huge ranking points were on offer, with the kids desperately seeking valuable points hoping to make the final cut off before Septembers JCT in Ohio. 17 Scozzie's made the trip to the Ocean State and on Sunday, we all drove back with a weekend of memories to reflect upon."
