POUR ME ANOTHER: CONCRETE IN FOR NEW WESTPARK TRAIL

Last week, workers began pouring concrete for the latest addition to the Westchase District trail system, the Westpark Trail. This 10-foot-wide trail is located just north of the Westpark Tollway, runs .6 miles east-west between South Gessner Road and Briarpark Drive, and connects to METRO's Gessner Park & Ride lot.

H2O AT HCC: NEW WATER FOUNTAIN ON HCC CAMPUS TRAIL

Hot and thirsty trail users, rejoice! A new water fountain - with spouts at two heights plus a pup cup - was installed this week at the north entrance of the HCC Campus Trail, near Westheimer and Hayes.

The Westchase District Livable Centers study is examining the green area outlined on the map above.

The Houston-Galveston Area Council's Livable Centers Program encourages the development and design of walkable, mixed-use places that provide a variety of transportation options, improve environmental quality and promote economic development. Westchase District is an H-GAC livable centers planning study partner examining these issues. We need the community's feedback to help set the study's priorities and inform our recommendations.

FARM-TASTIC SUMMER
SERIES FOR KIDS

Thursday, Aug. 10 marks the last of our summertime FREE, farm-tastic, family-friendly events for kids ages 12 and under. Each child will receive a resuable shopping bag and $2.00 of "Market Moolah" to spend at the market (while supplies last).

PETTING ZOO TOMORROW

We'll have a barnyard petting zoo at the market tomorrow. Pet them! Pick them up! Take pictures with them! Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Plus, we'll have children's author Lynn Abrams signing copies of her books, The Tale Of Lucky the Dog and Ten Dinosaurs.

Bring your kid to see a, um, kid at the market tomorrow.
