Service: Recovery Day and Clothing Drive
The Utah Support Advocates for Recovery Awareness (USARA) will host the National Rally for Recovery to be held on September 9, 2017. We expect thousands to walk with us through downtown Salt Lake City in support of recovery from alcohol and other drug addiction. Live bands, dignitaries from the national recovery movement, public officials, persons in recovery, families, community supporters, and friends of recovery will join the celebration.
FTR is also taking donations for two projects this month.
1. Ascend Recovery - We are need of kids clothes for Pre-k through 6th grade, hygiene kits and underwear. These items will be donated to the school TSE' BII' NIDZISGAI its on the Navajo reservation in Monument Valley. 95% of these kids are considered to be homeless living with other families or in inadequate facilities. Since they are located in Utah and the majority of the reservation is in Arizona they have a hard time getting funds from both the state and Navajo nation. Stay tuned for an FTR outreach with Ascend Recovery to the School to help build a Hogan.
2. The Road Home - Men and Women's clothing (Only donate clothing you would still wear yourself) socks, bra's, underwear, shoes, hygiene products of all kinds (alcohol free), non-perishable food and water.
All donations need to be received by
Saturday August 12th
