Starter Company PLUS is a great opportunity for  entrepreneurs and existing business owners who want to start, expand or buy a business in Durham Region and are not in school or working full time.


The program provides:

  • In Class Training - a community of entrepreneurs and mentorship from local business leaders to help get your business up and running
  • The chance to receive up to $5,000 in seed funding to kick off a new business or expand your current business
  • The experience of running a successful business that may help you obtain more traditional financing such as a bank loan if you so require in the future

Jodene is a graduate from BACD's Starter Company Program. She is a Personal Support Worker, and facility manager at Tender Arms.  Her company Tender Arms HealthCare Providers Corp offers a wide range of support services including personal support, home care, companionship, respite, and palliative care services.

Capstone Program 2017
Capstone Program is an intensive project based course bringing
together teams of 4 or 5 fourth year students with business clients.
The Capstone project provides an opportunity for students to integrate  academic knowledge with real business experience. The projects will  focus on a key business issues, to be researched and analyzed by the  student team.

 

Capstone projects are 7 months in  duration, from mid-September until April 1st of the following year.  The majority of project work will be completed January through
April.
