HDGF Deadline is Today
The December Housing Development Gap Financing (HDGF) round is approaching. OHFA will start accepting applications on Dec. 4th, continuing until 5:00 in the evening on Dec. 15, 2016. OHFA will announce applicants that are invited to continue to final application on Dec. 22.

FY17 Guidelines for Brownfields Assessment Grants
The Small Business Liability Relief and Brownfields Revitalization Act requires the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to publish guidance for grants to assess and clean up brownfield sites. EPA's Brownfields Program provides funds to empower states, communities, tribes, and nonprofits to prevent, inventory, assess, clean up, and reuse brownfield sites. Under these guidelines, EPA is seeking proposals for Assessment Grants only, to provide funds to inventory, characterize, assess, and conduct planning (including cleanup planning) and community involvement related to brownfield sites. Deadline is December 22.
Congress for the New Urbanism Charter Awards 2017
The Charter Awards recognize excellence in architectural, landscape, and urban design and planning, especially where that excellence engenders more equitable, sustainable, connected, healthy, and prosperous communities. Deadline is January 6, 2017.
Gannett Foundation Community Action Grants

ArtsWave Catalyzing Impact Grant Program - SW Ohio
The Catalyzing Impact Grant Program provides funding for one-time or first-time arts or cultural heritage projects that support one of the goals of the Blueprint for Collective Action. A project is defined as a specific, connected set of activities with a beginning and an end and explicit goals and objectives. Projects with multiple components must show that there is a cohesive theme that ties the project together. Deadline is March 3, 2017.
IFF - A New Lending Option in Ohio
IFF is a mission-driven lender, real estate consultant, and developer that helps Midwest communities thrive by creating opportunities for low-income populations and individuals with disabilities. In Ohio, IFF offers affordable, flexible financing from $10,000 to $2 million and works closely with clients from every sector, including arts and culture, charter schools, community development, special needs services, and supportive housing. Since 2014, we have provided over $34 million in loans and new markets tax credits for projects in major cities across the state, including Cincinnati, Cleveland, Columbus, and Dayton. Finance Fund Small Business Loan Fund
Loans of $200,000-400,000 are available to for-profit businesses and community based nonprofit organizations operating in underserved markets in the areas of healthy food, health care, job skills training, affordable housing, manufacturing, education, and child care. More information here.
FHLBank of Cincinnati Community Investment Cash Advances
The Federal Home Loan Bank of Cincinnati provides discounted advances through two programs to support housing and economic development. Under the Community Investment Program (CIP), discounted loans are available to finance the purchase, construction, and/or rehabilitation of housing and economic development projects. The Economic Development Program (EDP) provides discounted advances to promote economic development and/or job creation/retention. Available year-round. USDA Rural Business & Industry Loan Guarantees
This program, for financial institutions, bolsters the existing private credit structure through the guaranteeing of loans for rural businesses, allowing private lenders to extend more credit than they would typically be able to. Applications accepted year-round. More information here.
USDA Rural Water & Waste Disposal Loan & Grant Program
This program provides funding for clean and reliable drinking water systems, sanitary sewage disposal, sanitary solid waste disposal, and storm water drainage to households and businesses in eligible rural areas. Applications accepted year-round. More information here.
CDFA Brownfields Technical Assistance Program
The CDFA Brownfields Technical Assistance Program is made possible by a grant from the U.S. EPA and is intended to provide technical assistance and resources on brownfields redevelopment financing. Council of Development Finance Agencies (CDFA) and partners provide resources and expertise related to revolving loan funds, tax credits, tax increment finance and other effective financing tools.  More information here.
USDA Rural Business Development Grants
RBDG is a competitive grant designed to support targeted technical assistance, training and other activities leading to the development or expansion of small and emerging private businesses in rural areas that have fewer than 50 employees and less than $1 million in gross revenues. Programmatic activities are separated into enterprise or opportunity type grant activities. More information here.

Cleveland Neighborhood Grants
Neighborhood Connections offers small grants to groups of residents in Cleveland and East Cleveland to do projects that improve the quality of life in their communities. Grants range from $500 to $5,000. Grants are intended to spur small, grassroots community projects. Grants may be used for a wide variety of activities and projects, and groups are encouraged to think in new ways about what will work in their communities and with whom they might partner. Deadline is February 10, 2017.
Infosys Foundation USA: Call for Maker Submissions
The Infosys Foundation USA has launched its second year of the Infy Maker Awards competition to provide $10,000 to adult Makers who are working on social impact projects and tackling important challenges. This year's themes are education, health, environmental sustainability and combating hunger. There are 25 prizes available. Applications are due February 28.
Unitarian Universalist Fund for a Just Society
Grants are made to non-Unitarian Universalist groups in the U.S. and Canada that: use community organizing to bring about systemic change leading to a more just society; mobilize those who have been disenfranchised and excluded from resources, power and the right to self-determination; and have an active focused campaign to create systemic change. Deadline is March 15, 2017.
RGK Foundation Seeks Proposals for Community Projects
RGK Foundation awards grants in the broad areas of Education, Community, and Health/Medicine. Within Community, the Foundation supports a broad range of human services, community improvement, abuse prevention, and youth development programs. Human service programs of particular interest to the Foundation include children and family services, early childhood development, and parenting education. The Foundation supports a variety of Community Improvement programs including those that enhance non-profit management and promote philanthropy and voluntarism. Presbyterian Mission Agency Grants
Projects considered must: be presented, owned, and controlled by the group of economically poor people who will benefit directly from it; and address long-term correction of conditions that keep people bound by poverty and oppression.This will utilize some combination of the SDOP core strategies to promote justice, build solidarity, advance human dignity and advocate for economic equity. Walmart and the Walmart Foundation have identified four core areas of giving: Hunger Relief & Healthy Eating, Sustainability, Women's Economic Empowerment and Opportunity.

Katie's Krops - Youth Led Gardening
Starting a Katie's Krops Garden is so much more than just receiving funding to grow a garden. Youth selected as Katie's Krops Growers are empowered to grow a healthy end to hunger in their community and positively impacting the health of their cities and towns. Deadline is December 31.
Clif Bar Family Foundation Small Grants Program
Small grants up to $7,000 will be awarded to address their funding priorities from a holistic perspective including: p rotecting the earth's beauty and bounty; c reating a robust, healthy food system; i ncreasing opportunities for outdoor activity; r educing environmental health hazards; and b uilding stronger communities.Deadline is February 1, 2017.
Healthy Food for Ohio Funds
Finance Fund Capital Corporation developed Healthy Food for Ohio (HFFO) to increase access to affordable, fresh food in underserved areas, improve the diets and health of Ohio residents, and spur economic development and revitalization. Grants and loans are available to fund costs associated with land acquisition, predevelopment, construction, equipment, infrastructure, and related expenses for new and existing facilities. Eligible applicants include grocery chains, individual grocery stores, neighborhood food stores, co-ops, and nontraditional food projects such as farmers markets and food hubs. Projects must operate in limited supermarket access areas in Ohio. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis.

OCDCA AmeriCorps VISTA RFP 
Funding for the OCDCA VISTA Project is provided by the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS) and the Ohio Development Services Agency (ODSA) through the Ohio Housing Trust Fund (OHTF). Limited slots are available; therefore, this is a competitive process and some slots will be reserved for housing-only initiatives. The deadline is  Thursday, January 25, 2017. 
Elevation 1:1 IT Match
For each dollar a nonprofit spends on web design or other media related work, Elevation will match that dollar with a dollar of their own. In 2016 Elevation will match dollar for dollar up to $800,000. Funds will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. Learn more.
