EAX-500 Surface Mount Battery Powered Door Alarm
The Detex EAX-500 is designed for applications that require a battery-powered alarm on secured doors. The alarm, with approximately 100dB, will sound when someone attempts an unauthorized exit. The redesigned shape and smaller size of the EAX-500 makes it the choice for quick and easy installations on emergency exit and restricted doors.

  • SK1 Kit allows for wall mounting and includes 1 white MS-1039S door contact
  • SK2 Kit allows for wall mounting and includes 2 white MS-1039S door contacts
  • SK3 Kit allows for wall mounting and includes 1 brown MS-1059S door contact
  • SK4 Kit allows for wall mounting and includes 2 brown MS-1059S door contacts
  • SK5 Kit allows for wall mounting and includes 1 grey MS-2049S door contact
  • SK6 Kit allows for wall mounting and includes 2 grey MS-2049S door contacts

Cylinder Nut Socket now on sale

Make installing Mortise cylinders on Detex Exit Alarms easier with the Cylinder Nut Socket. Screwing the Cylinder Nut on the back of the Mortise cylinder with a screwdriver alone can damage the switches and the other sensitive parts in your Exit Alarm, but when the Cylinder Nut Socket is used, it drastically reduces chances that the switches will be damaged, and will help ensure proper tightening of the Mortise Cylinder.

Mounting the EAX-500 on a Wall



The EAX-500 configuration is very versatile.  The default configuration is door mounted using internal sensors, but can be wall mounted in order to monitor doors from the wall . Wall mounting can also monitor multiple doors.

The EAX-500 is equipped with a jumper (JP1) that provides power to the internal sensors, enabling it to be door mounted and interact with the magnet on the frame.
 
If wall mounting is desired, cutting JP1 permanently disables the internal sensors and monitors external contacts, such as MS-1039S/1059S or MS-2049S.

Cutting JP1 will no longer allow the alarm to be mounted on the door.

If a wall mounting kit is ordered with the alarm, Detex will cut JP1.

Note: Wall mounting with external contacts is not available with the EAX-500W weatherized alarm.
