The Dog Days of Summer are here!  If you're looking for ways to beat the heat, you'll find Virginia wineries among the "coolest" places to visit, where you can sip wine in air-conditioned tasting rooms or shaded picnic areas.

This month we're featuring James Charles Winery in Winchester as our Winery of the Month.   We definitely recommend a visit to the James Charles Tasting Room to savor their award-winning wines and take in the spectacular view of the Shenandoah Valley.

Check our August Events, loaded with ideas for taking in the many special wine, craft beer and spirits activities across Virginia.  We'd love to hear about your August travels. Cheers!

Paradise Springs Winery produces one of the first, L'Orange d'Viognier.  Not made with oranges, the name simply refers to the color.  Fermenting and macerating the grapes with the skins and seeds intact is a natural wine making technique that gives this wine unique aromas of orange blossom and baked apples with flavors of white tea with honey and a finish reminiscent of almonds.
