Government Affairs Update
Dear AIA Michigan Members,
An important bill to reinstate the Michigan Historic Preservation Tax Credit has been introduced in the Michigan legislature. The tax credit, which was phased out in 2011 as part of the governor's plan to eliminate tax carve-out programs, had helped many projects go forward, generating 1.46 billion dollars in investment in our state. The Michigan Historic Preservation Tax Credit was beneficial to our state's historic building rehabilitation projects and also for employment in Michigan.
Please take action by contacting your legislator. The MHPN's website has information on finding your legislators' contact information.
Our collective voice as members of AIA Michigan can make a difference!
