"There are people in my district who live 20 miles from farms but simply can't get fresh fruits and vegetables for their families. DID YOU KNOW? EVERY TWO SECONDS, SOMEONE IN THE U.S. NEEDS BLOOD
The American Red Cross ( Celena Roldan) continues to have an emergency need for blood donors of all blood types to give now and help save patient lives. The Red Cross must collect nearly 14,000 blood donations every day for patients at approximately 2,600 hospitals across the country. Currently, blood donations are being distributed to hospitals as fast as donations are coming in, and more donations are needed now to meet hospital patient needs and replenish the blood supply.

The most important way that people can help is by making an appointment at an existing blood drive to positively impact the current blood supply. We encourage everyone to consider making an appointment today by using the Red Cross Blood Donor App, visiting redcrossblood.org or calling 1-800-RED CROSS (1- 800-733-2767). Individuals who are 17 years of age (16 with parental consent) weigh at least 110 pounds and are in generally good health may be eligible to donate blood.
