SUMMER HAS ARRIVED AT THE UAMA

It may be hot in Tucson, but the UAMA is filled with cool exhibitions, events, and programming for the summer! Are you looking for fun art activities for kids on summer break? Don't forget to pick up the Expect More AZ worksheet (available in English and Spanish) in our lobby to make the most of your visit. For the littler set, Art Sprouts continues with sessions on June 24 and July 15. Remember that art created in the summer sessions is eligible for inclusion in the fall  Selections from Art Sprouts exhibition. Happy summer everyone!
Affiliate Groups

The Museum family is growing - we've just launched a network of ten Affiliate Groups! From students to volunteers to public art supporters, there's an Affiliate Group and way to get involved with the Museum for everyone. For more information, email the staff liaison for groups in which you're interested. Want to talk in person? Come to the Affiliate Groups Open House on July 1 at 5:00 pm. See more information about all of the groups on our website.

Mapping Q

The award-winning and innovative Mapping Q program has returned for a third iteration with a summer of workshops and an exhibition opening Wednesday, August 12. The program, run in collaboration with the Southern Arizona AIDS Foundation's Arizona Life Links for Youth program (ALLY), invites LGBTQ+ youth and their allies to explore representations of self within the Museum. The participants map the Museum and the work within, then create original art works in response to their discoveries, adding their unique voices to the story. The works will be displayed in an exhibition in the Museum's Mezzanine Gallery from August 12 through September 13. Learn more about the program here.
