Vietnam Becomes Home to 5th WECREATE | CENTER

U.S., Vietnamese officials and GriffinWorx leadership gathered in Hanoi, Vietnam on October 21 for the opening of Vietnam's first women entrepreneurship center  in Vietam WECREATE | Vietnam will bring 2,200 jobs to the region in 2017 and provide resources for the advancement of women's entrepreneurship. Pr ogramming and events will be tailored to the specific needs of female entrepreneurs, leveraging StartUp Cup's portfolio of entrepreneurial programs powered by GriffinWorx, to help them successfully build sustainable female-owned businesses.

Russia StartUp Cup Announces Finazzi as First Place Winner During the Global Entrepreneurship  Summit 2016

The Russia StartUp Cup awards ceremony took place in St. Petersburg on November 18, 2016. Russia StartUp Cup is one of Russia's largest and longest-running startup competitions. This year, Russia StartUp Cup announced  Finazzi as the first place winner. Finazzi is a p latform that uses primary financial reporting and data to help companies build forecasts of key financial and operational performance metrics and assess current and projected risks.

WECREATE | CAMBODIA Celebrates Handover in Phnom Penh

Since its launch in September 2015, the WECREATE | Cambodia Center has supported 1,338 women entrepreneurs in building 101 operating businesses resulting in 915 jobs. On Wednesday, November 30th, 2016, WECREATE | CAMBODIA celebrated the signing of an MOU with Paz y Desarrollo (PYD), which translates to "Peace and Development", an organization which has helped manage development initiatives in more than a dozen nations worldwide. GriffinWorx looks forward to continuing its partnership with PYD to grow women entrepreneurs in Cambodia.

The Cleaning Lady, a Social Enterprise Wins Philippines StartUp Cup 2016

Philippines StartUp Cup held their annual business model competition. Sectors that participated in the StartUp Cup Challenge included technology, home services, product manufacturing, transportation and more. The Cleaning Lady dominated its competitors and won the national title as StartUp Cup Philippines Champion, putting them on track to compete at World StartUp 2017.

The U.S. Embassy and WECREATE | ZAMBIA Host the Zambia Entrepreneurship Summit 

The Zambia Entrepreneurship Summit brought together Zambia's top and up and coming investors, lenders, and entrepreneurship empowerment organizations in Lusaka, Zambia. StartUp Academy Graduate and Founder of Pad Heaven, Florence Kamaitha Works with the Inmates at Langata Women's Prisons in Nairobi to Make Re-usable Sanitary Pads

Pad Heaven Initiative is a social enterprise that manufactures low cost sanitary pads to keep girls in class during their periods. Over 900,000 girls in Kenya miss up to 4 days a month from school due to lack of access to affordable sanitary pads. The project is aimed at providing low cost sanitary pads to women and girls in Kenya, while creating an economic activity for the prisoners, who are still in prison in an effort to reduce recidivism rates among inmates.
