Downtown Wooster Square Meeting - August 15
The Downtown-Wooster Square Community Management Team is a place where city government, businesses, and citizens can come together to share information, questions, and concerns to make Downtown and Wooster Square healthier, more vibrant, and more joyful places to live, work, and visit.

Come join us the 3rd Tuesday of every month at 6 PM at City Hall in Meeting Room #2 to voice your concerns, ask questions, or just listen! All are welcome. NEXT MEETING - August 15.
Puerto Rican Festival - STREET CLOSING
The 2nd Annual Puerto Rican Festival will take place on Saturday, August 12 from 1:00 to 9:00 pm on the lower New Haven Green. Click Here for details.

Please note that Temple Street between Elm and Chapel will be CLOSED from 11:00 am- 9:00 pm. 
Opera Palooza - STREET CLOSING
Opera Palooza is scheduled for Saturday, August 19 at 6PM. It's an evening where Italian opera and food aficionados gather on the Historic New Haven Green for the moonlit Opera-Palooza!

Please note that Temple Street between Elm and Chapel will be CLOSED from 2:00 pm- 9:00 pm.
New Haven Road Race - STREET CLOSINGS
The 40th Annual Faxon Law New Haven Road Race is scheduled for Monday, September 4 with packet pick-up and race registration beginning at 6:45am. Here's the race schedule:

8:30am 20K & Half Marathon START
8:30am 5K START
9:00am-11:30am Post-Race Party
10:30am 5K Awards
11:00am 20K & USATF 20K Championship Awards

Yale Returns
Saturday, August 25 is Opening Day at Yale University and residence halls will welcome first year students at 9 a.m.

Downtown New Haven welcomes Yale Class of 2021,  who begins their fall semester on Wednesday, August 30.

Help Commemorate Tennis Month in New Haven
Mayor Toni Harp has declared August "Tennis Month" in New Haven as a way to celebrate the 20th Annual Connecticut Open.  This declaration is a celebration of all things tennis and all things New Haven! 

Town Green has partnered with Economic Development and Visit New Haven to create a vibrant display for merchants to enliven store front windows and welcome visitors, players, and guests which the tournament draws from all over the world. 

Town Green will be installing similar graphics on the table tops of the bistro furniture throughout the district. Also, INFO New Haven Visitor Center at 1000 Chapel St. will be outfitted with large colorful tennis ball window clings.

July Pedestrian Counts
July's 82 degree average temperatures drew 245,897 visitors to Downtown New Haven, bringing the year's total count to 1,825,772. Friday, July 28 was the busiest day with 10,651 pedestrians.

Pedestrian movement is monitored at five locations - Chapel and High Streets; Orange Street at B Cafe, Reynolds Fine Art and Ferrucci's). Read the Full Report July 2017
