VOLUNTEERING
Thank you ICS parent volunteers!
A big thank you to all volunteers who give their time and talent to make ICS an amazing community. While the family agreement includes a 30-hour minimum volunteer commitment, please consider giving additional time to continue supporting our students and community throughout the entire school year; this is especially important for the productivity and success of long-term committees.
We recognize that volunteers may need to discontinue their work on a committee during the year. When possible, please give the committee chairperson adequate lead time to find a replacement as our volunteer positions are integral to our community's success and often impact the students of ICS directly.
We know that many families put in hours well above the minimum and for that we are very grateful. Thank you so much for all that you do and have a happy and restful holiday season!
ICS Art Day 2017 needs you!
  • ICS Art Day will be on January 30th, 2017 this year. It is a day filled with fun activities for the kids and there are a number of ways you can participate and earn your hours. Please use this link to sign up.
  • During Art Day, PTSA provides lunch to Staff, volunteers and Instructors. We need your help to make this possible. Please sign up for Art Day Luncheon here.
ICS Office Volunteer Opportunity
The ICS office is looking for help on Monday mornings from 7:15 - 9:30 to answer phones and assist students and parents who come to the front desk. It would be best to have the same person volunteering each week. Good communication skills and attention to detail are necessary. They would like to have someone ready to  start as soon as possible. If you are interested or want more information, please email our Volunteer Coordinators.
Lunch Time Game Keepers Needed
Have your students mentioned that we have a new ping pong table that is available during the lunch period? So far it's only available a few days a week, but if you can spare an hour or two a week, we could have it available every day! As a volunteer, you would be responsible for setting up/ taking down the ping pong tables and checking out the outdoor balls to students. We need at least one person per day during the lunch hour. Please email our Volunteer Coordinators, if you are interested.

The Student Study Center is Open!
Need someone to practice Spanish with for an upcoming test or just need feedback or ideas on a paper you've been working on? Student tutors are ready to help with all subjects. This is a great opportunity to get insight from fellow students who have been through the academic material before, it's free and there are snacks to ensure that the brain is fed.
The Student Study Center is open every day during lunch in the Library and every day except Wednesday in Room 157 from 2:05 - 3:00 p.m. Walk-ins welcome or you can sign up here.
Sign Up for the ICS Running Club
If you want to stay healthy, active and have a little fun, the ICS Running Club is the perfect opportunity. We'll meet at least twice a week as a group to go jogging -
maybe more depending on the number of student signups and parent volunteers. All fitness levels are welcome. We will start slow and build up our endurance. The goal is to prepare for running a 5K race as a group in the spring. Running in a race is not a requirement for participation in the club. We are meeting Wednesdays from 12:15pm to 1:15pm and Fridays from 2:15pm to 3:25pm. To sign up, contact Adina Trufinescu.
Alumni Assembly
There will be an assembly for students on December 16th with ICS alumni, who are returning to talk about life after ICS. This kind of program has been well received during the evening when parents can attend, but this is the first time it will be during the day exclusively for students. Our plan is to alternate evening and daytime ICS Alumni programs every year. Ask your student about the assembly and feel free to give us some feedback.
