Art recess Needs Volunteers!
Armstrong's ever-popular art recess meets Mondays and Tuesdays and gives lower school students the chance to get creative in the art room during recess. (How lucky are they?) We need parent volunteers from 11:20 to 12:05 to help quickly set up, supervise kids for safety and assist with quick clean up. No MFA needed!

Career Day

Career Day
for students in grade 5 to 8. On this day, students get the opportunity to meet with Armstrong alumni, parents and other friends of the school and learn more about their work. We have a great line-up of speakers this year, including a veterinarian, a producer, a global manufacturer, and several emergency service personnel, including some who helped with the recent North Bay fires. In addition, the three most highly rated speakers from last year are all returning. Students will sign up for sessions in their advisories soon. Please make sure your student is at school on this important day.

Librarians Corner:
A thank you to the Armstrong Community for supporting another successful Hicklebees Book Fair. Much appreciation to CAPSO, the Book Fair coordinator Lena Parkinson and the numerous helpful volunteers for promoting and organizing the event. The students and families were filled with enthusiasm and happiness as they shopped about for interesting books and favorite merchandise. What a wonderful event. Happy Reading!

CAPSO Corner
Halloween was nothing short of epic at Armstrong. Thanks to you, CAPSO's Jog-a-Thon raised nearly $35K to support our teachers and classrooms. (If you missed turning in your envelope, you can still donate! Visit
www.charlesarmstrong.org and click on "Support Armstrong." You can specify your gift go toward the Jog-a-Thon.) Thanks to you, Armstrong kids jogged, grooved, partied and paraded on Halloween day. And thanks to you, we had another successful Book Fair with Armstrong students excited about books and reading (and yes, Silly Putty too)!
There are several CAPSO superstars who deserve massive amounts of recognition this week. Our JAT Chairs,
Libby Werba and
Linda Stoick, brought new ideas and energy to pull off a flawless event.
Laurie Stein coordinated the JAT t-shirts alongside our art teachers,
Kristi Martinez and
Dylan Jones. The gold writing was fancy! Our Book Fair Chairs,
Lena and
Simon Parkinson, put in countless hours to set up, run and shut down another fantastic Book Fair. All of our dedicated room parents orchestrated Halloween parties and festivities. And so very many parents were on hand on Tuesday to pitch in and help where needed. We are grateful to all of you!
We are also grateful to all the faculty and staff who help ensure all the Halloween happenings run safe and smoothly.

Last but not least, the Chili Cook-Off was a success. Thanks to all the parents who entered. It was a close call but congratulations to Blake Buckner for winning.
