Fairmont Celebrates Halloween
Halloween celebrations at Historic Anaheim began last week as the 7th grade students participated in their pumpkin lab. Students brought in pumpkins to see if their sizes correlated to how many pumpkin seeds are inside of them. Curious? Find a junior high student to see what their findings were, or check out our blog post about the lab.

Those pumpkins then became decorations for the wonderful Halloween Haunt that was thrown by our FPA for all of our families. Students came dressed in their costumes and jumped in the bouncy houses, tried their hands at various games of skill, and ate yummy food! There was even an area for our littlest students. The best part of the Halloween Haunt is having our junior high students run the "Little Goblins" area and the carnival games. It is so fun to see our eldest students interacting with their younger peers.

After three days of rest, the festivities resumed on Tuesday. Our preschool through 2nd grade students participated in parades throughout the morning, and all of the classrooms also held Halloween parties throughout the day. Halloween is always such a festive time around the Historic Anaheim Campus! It is so great to see all of the wonderful, inventive costumes and also to see all of the students having such a wonderfully spooky time!
News & Announcements
Santa Photos
On Thursday, November 9, our preschool through 1st grade students are invited to have their pictures taken with Santa. Kindergarten and 1st grade students are able to have free dress on this day. Please have your child wear his or her holiday best for this picture with Santa.

Only students turning in order forms will have their pictures taken with Santa. If you would like your child to take a photo with Santa, please make sure that your order form is turned in by Wednesday, November 8.

Veterans Day
In honor of Veterans Day, there will be no school on Friday, November 10. Respectively, there will also be no Homework Club or 4:15 pm parent pickup on Thursday, November 9.

Community Outreach: Operation Candy
The first FPA community outreach event is underway! Please bring in all of your unwanted Halloween candy, and place it in the collection box located in your homeroom. This candy will be distributed to troops overseas through Operation Gratitude, an organization that provides care packages for U.S. military members.

Additionally, we would love the students to write letters to the troops that we can include with the candy. The first class to fill up its box will win a $50 gift card for classroom supplies and a pizza party! Candy will be collected until November 6. At that time, the class with the most candy (by weight) will receive a $100 gift card for school supplies, and the runner-up will receive a $50 gift card!

End of Daylight Saving Time
This Sunday, November 5, at 2:00 am is the end of daylight saving time, so don't forget to set your clocks back before you go to sleep Saturday night. Your phones and computers should change automatically. Enjoy that extra hour of sleep!

Picture Orders
Please don't forget to order your school pictures! This can be completed online or by turning in the order form that you received along with your child's proof. The last day to order pictures is Wednesday, November 15.

Junior High Shadow Days at Fairmont Prep
In order for your child to better understand what an average day is like at Fairmont Prep, we encourage you to schedule a Shadow Day for him or her. Accompanied by one of Fairmont Prep's outstanding student ambassadors, your student will sit in on classes in his or her area of interest and spend time with peers to hear about day-to-day life at Fairmont Prep. Transportation to and from the junior high campus will be provided, and lunch will also be provided. Permission slips must be turned in to your campus assistant director at least four days before the scheduled Shadow Day, and your student will need to wear his or her regular required uniform on this day. We have one more Shadow Day next week on Monday, November 6. You can access more information by downloading our informational flyer, which includes the required permission slip. Please see your assistant campus director to sign up.
