November 2017
Dear Friends:

Partner Alliance
We are so excited about our growing Partner Alliance! Our Networking Reception on October 25 at City Coho was well attended and lots of fun! We welcomed new friends and caught up with long-time partners. Want to support our work and meet new colleagues? Learn more here...and call me at 215-744-1853.

Working with our Communities to Reduce Pollution
We provided expert assistance to Cheltenham Township in the development of its Pollution Reduction Plan (PRP). As part of its 2017 National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System permit under the Clean Water Act, Cheltenham was required to submit a PRP to demonstrate its strategy for installing best management practices (BMPs) to reduce sediment and nutrient loads -- making our creeks healthier! Cheltenham's PRP was presented to its Public Works Committee in August with a public comment period ending on September 4. We look forward to working with the Township to implement this plan!

Leadership & Opportunity
Join us in congratulating Rosanne Mistretta, Board President for becoming a member of the  National Environmental Education Advisory Council for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. Would you like to demonstrate your support for TTF by helping with networking and building our base of support? Call me at 215-744-1853 to talk!

Sincerely,
Julie
 Jenkintown Creek Progress!

To see the impact of our work through the National Fish & Wildlife Foundation's Delaware River Restoration Fund, visit one of our restoration sites along the 3.6 mile Jenkintown Creek in Abington: Abington Friends School, Abington Meetinghouse, Manor College, the Sisters of Saint Basil the Great, and McKinley Elementary School.

With NFWF support, as well as TreeVitalize and the Carbon Fund
we have planted over 1100 trees and shrubs and .28 miles of stream buffer, and are managing over 10 acres of area with stormwater BMPs. This was all made possible with the help of over 1,000 volunteers! At McKinley, we expanded a vernal pool (seasonal wetland).

We are so proud! And we're still going. This month, we're continuing our work at Ethel Jordan Park by restoring the eroded stream bank and installing a bioswale and rain garden to slow down and filter pollution that flows into the creek. Ethel Jordan Park neighbor? See you on planting day on November 11!
