The United Church of Christ holds NYE national youth events every 4 years (the next being in 2020) and Regional Youth Events (we are part of the Eastern group) every 4 years (the next being in 2018) - watch for details. These events are held every 4 years and bring UCC youth together for 4 days of praise music, worship, challenging speakers, fun and much fellowship!

Our next UCC Eastern Regional Youth Event 2018,will be held July 19-22, 2018, bringing together UCC youth from the Mid-Atlantic and New England states, to be held in western Pennsylvania at California University of Pennsylvania. Our theme for the event is the 3 Great Loves: neighbor, children, and creation.  The event is open to Youth in Grades 7-12 (includes those who just completed 6th and are entering 7th as well as those who graduated high school just before the event). Cost: $350.00 per person for double occupancy. Click to go to the UCC ERYE Facebook page

Children's Sermon
for Nov. 5 (based on Mt. 23:1-12)
Items needed:  Flashlight, mirror.   ( If possible, dim the lights in the sanctuary during the children's sermon.)  Show kids flashlight and ask them what it is. Turn it on and ask one of kids to come over to the right side of everybody else and hold the flashlight so it points towards the group, but not directly.  Then take out mirror and ask kids what it is.   Then stand in such a way that you angle mirror so that light from flashlight shines directly into each kid's face, one at a time.  In today's Bible reading, Jesus talks about something called humility.  This is one way to understand what humility is. Humility is when a person's heart  is in the right place so that it reflects the love of God, just like this mirror needs to be in a certain place to reflect the light from the flashlight to get into your eyes.  As we try to love God and give our lives to God, our hearts get in the right place to shine God's love and light into the lives of other people.
