Maintenance/Custodian Worker

St. Andrew's Ukrainian Orthodox Sobor Parish- 9831 - 75 Street Edmonton, AB
We are looking for a skilled maintenance worker for our not- for -profit organization in the south east part of Edmonton. Our Maintenance department is responsible for looking after the minor repairs, cleaning of our facility daily, maintenance of our safety program, ensuring all parameter or the property is well maintained throughout all four seasons. Be a supportive team player and dedicated ensuring our property is well maintained. Because we are a Christian Church, candidate must have all walk ways clean at all times and be available on Sundays or any week day holidays as well as any functions day/evening.
Skills:   Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities                                                                                                                                                      
  • Must be able to understand mechanical, electrical, heating, plumbing and alarm systems.
  • Perform major maintenance tasks (painting and renovations) and minor household repairs (screens, doors, walls, bolts, door knobs)
  • Working knowledge of building and equipment specifications; understand how to use a snow blower; power tools; lawn mower; and cleaning equipment
  • Be able to wash windows, interior walls and ceilings; clean and disinfect bathrooms and fixtures, sweep, mop, floors and stairs, empty trash cans regularly, move and stack tables and chair around.
  • Must be able to itemize purchases required for supplies within budgetary guidelines.
  • Be able to work with a Board of Management
  • Advise Board of Management of any building maintenance issues. Other duties may be assigned as needed.
  • Able to work under pressure, repetitive tasks, Physically demanding, bending crouching, kneeling
  • Must be in physical shape and able to lift minimum 50 lbs
  • Experience and ability to perform minor electrical, carpentry, plumbing and heating repairs.
  • Former Education or equivalent experience in building maintenance
  • Ability to work independently as well as within a group of individuals
  • Excellent oral communication; excellent written communication; dependable; organized; flexible
  • Must have a reliable vehicle, proof of Liability/PLPD insurance and valid driver's license
  • Must be able to provide a Criminal Record Check
