Join us for this free in-person workshop at the Foundation for a Healthy Kentucky's conference facility in Louisville, Kentucky. Helen Keller said, "Alone we can do so little. Together we can do so much." Developing strong coalitions can make or break effective community work. We will draw on the wisdom in the room to deepen our understanding of effective community coalitions. Although not required, it is recommended that you bring two people from your community for maximum impact. Seating is limited. Lunch provided.

The KIP survey is Kentucky's largest source of data related to student use of alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs (ATOD), as well as a number of measures of mental health, suicidal behaviors, and related risk factors.

Integrating Cognitive Behavioral Skills Into Clinical Practice

Psychosocial risk factors, such as fear of movement and pain catastrophizing, have a negative infuence on rehabilitation outcomes and often result in higher levels of pain and disability. Changing Behavior through Physical Therapy (CBPT) and Occupational Therapy (CBOT) is a program designed to improve patient outcomes by addressing specifc psychosocial risk factors. This program has been approved for 7.5 contact hours in KY for PTs and OTs.

, will host a free webinar, "Rural HIV/AIDS Prevention and Treatment," Thursday, Nov. 7.
The one-hour webinar will begin at 1 p.m. EDT, and will present a toolkit designed to help rural communities plan, implement and sustain HIV/AIDS programs. The toolkit was developed by Norc for the federal Office of Rural Health Policy
. The speakers will discuss examples of successful programs and lessons learned.

America Walks Community Change Micro Grant
America Walks is excited to extend another round of community change micro grants to individuals and communities interested in improving the public sphere for walking or otherwise helping to make walking more commonplace.
This program awards up to $1,500 to fund or help to catalyze smaller-scale, low-cost projects and programs that increase the prevalence of walking, expand the diversity of people and organizations working to advance walkability, and help to make walking safer, easier, and more fun for all community members.

The Department of Agriculture's Community Food Projects Competitive Grant Program
