Your support is needed to ensure the future of many valuable Clay Humane programs.
Give The Gift Of Lifesaving Veterinary Care
"Given how bad his life has apparently been until now, it’s simply amazing how happy and well he is doing today…" Said Senior Veterinarian, Dr. Christian Broadhurst, of "Jackson", a stray rescued by Clay Humane from a life of dog-fighting and abuse.Thin, blind, scarred and fearful, Jackson is one of many who found refuge at Clay Humane in 2016.
Dear Friend of Clay Humane,

The good news is that after getting lifesaving veterinary care, sweet "Jackson" is now on the mend and is ready for his loving, permanent home.

Sadly, he won’t ever see again because of the traumatic injuries to his eyes will forever be evidence of the horrendous life he once endured. But, "Jackson" will never again suffer at the cruel hands of abuse.

We need your help in protecting animals found in situations of cruelty and neglect.

Food Drive in Full Swing
Once again, Clay Humane will be holding its Annual Pet Food Drive which benefits many community families. We need your help!
For the holidays months, participating Publix Supermarkets have kindly agreed to place our donation boxes in their stores. Several schools are participating by decorating the donation boxes and collecting pet food items as their way of taking part in helping the animals this holiday season. Please remember our four-legged friends when doing your grocery shopping and if you are unable to donate at the store locations, feel free to drop items off at the Humane Society. Learn More >>>
Petco Foundation Awards $25,000 Lifesaving Impact Award to Clay Humane
Petco Foundation recently awarded Clay Humane with a $25,000 Lifesaving Impact Award for our efforts in reducing shelter euthanasia and the rise of feral colonies with our free cat sterilization program. In effect since October 2013, the program is credited with spaying and neutering nearly 17,000 cats for free, including 4,000 ferals from Clay and surrounding counties. The generous Petco Award helps us offset costs of this invaluable program and ensures that we will continue our fight against pet overpopulation.

Dr. Chris Visits W.E. Cherry
Jr. Humane Society

Dr. Chris Broadhurst and director Linda Welzant were lucky enough to be guests at a WE Cherry Elementary Jr. Humane Society meeting. Dr. Broadhurst spoke to the students about the role of Clay Humane in the community and the importance of being a responsible pet owner. The pair also brought “Scooter” along to visit. "Scooter" is a terrier mix who came to the clinic as a stray that was hit by a car. Although “Scooter” suffers some paralysis, he is the happiest little guy ever and up for adoption!

Rebekah Harp, teacher and founder of the club, instills a strong sense of compassion in her students not only for animals but for the world we live in. She fosters a love for the arts, the environment and people in general and encourages "random acts of kindness."  A good example is artist, Kelsey Bailes whose paintings adorn every wall in Ms. Harp’s classroom.  While in class, Kelsey worked tirelessly, painting a masterpiece for Clay Humane. Thank you Kelsey for the beautiful piece of artwork that will now hang on the clinic wall!
