Mental Health Month May 2016

Rebecca's Dream celebrates May's Mental Health Awareness month through public education, advocacy campaign, and a wellness card offering free and discounted classes, treatments, and healthy foods from 16 local businesses.

The four free programs designed to raise awareness and promote mental health will be offered to Highland Park and surrounding communities during May include:

May 2: Movie
Based on a true story starring Mark Ruffalo, is hospitalized after a manic breakdown. He becomes primary caregiver for his daughters and finds himself in over his head. Viewing and discussion of movie at the Highland Park Library at 7:00pm. Click here for more information and to RSVP.

May 10: Teens & Transitions What is normal...what is not. A panel discussion led by professional experts will offer information for parents to help their teens transition to HPHS, at HPHS at 7:00pm. Click here for more information and to RSVP.

May 10: Yoga and Meditation Class
Open to current 8th grade and HPHS students, at HPHS at 7:00pm. Bring your friends. Click here for more information and to RSVP.

May 23: "Middle Years"
A discussion for parents on helping middle schoolers navigate their social and academic lives. At Edgewood Middle School at 1:00pm. Click here for more information and to RSVP.

Rebecca's Dream was established in 2005 in celebration of the life of Rebecca Lynn Cutler, a journalist who succumbed to depression and bipolar disorder at age 30. Rebecca's family and friends continue her personal mission to help others receive proper treatment and needed support.
