Bishop's Bible Challenge
Begins Sunday, January 1, 2017
Bishop Gutierrez has invited our whole parish to read through the Bible in 2017, from Genesis to Revelation. The Bishop's Bible Challenge is designed to create a devotional community reading the same portions of scripture every day across the Diocese. Each day we will read from the Hebrew Bible, the Psalms, and from the New Testament. A schedule of daily readings is available in the Parish House foyer and on a FREE app called DIOPA BIBLE. Imagine yourself reading (or listening!) to your daily portion on the train as you commute, during your workout on the treadmill, at your desk at work, in the food court at lunch, or before bed each night.  Read More...
Project HOME 24-Hour Homeless Outreach Hotline
As the weather turns colder, the next few months will be especially hard on our neighbors experiencing homelessness. When ambient temperatures drop below 20 degrees F (or 32 degrees F with precipitation) the City issues a Code Blue and takes extraordinary measures to ensure that those on the streets have access to emergency shelter. Organizations around the city like Project HOME help spread the word to get people inside, and you can help! On extremely cold nights, if you see someone sleeping outside, call the Project HOME hotline to notify them of the person's location, and they will send someone to come help the person find shelter. 24-Hour Homeless Outreach Hotline: 215-232-1984

Welcome to the Dahans!
Last week, the Dahan family of four arrived in Philadelphia and were settled into their temporary home in Mt. Airy. Sameer, age 40, Majidah, age 26, and their children Ayman (7) and Iman (1) were met by representatives of the Refugee Resettlement Ministry, our case worker from Bethany Christian Services, and Samra, the college student we've sponsored who also helped with translation. The Dahans are Muslim and their primary language is Arabic. Thank you for all your work in helping the Refugee Resettlement Ministry prepare for their arrival!
Thanks to everyone who helped us meet our goal by Christmas!
We are still expecting some pledges in, so we're naming a  NEW GOAL of $620,000!  We are confident that we can make this reach.
