Raptor's Virtual Volunteer captures your volunteer hours.  A record of your volunteer hours is of vital importance to the school where you volunteer and to the district.  Please remember to document all your volunteer hours at  www.v-volunteer.com.  To access the NISD Background Check, please log on to  www.nisdtx.org.
Volunteer Spotlight:  Danielle Varner

Meet Danielle Varner, a volunteer at Carl E. Schluter Elementary School.  Varner spends her time helping first grade teachers, art teachers, in the library and anywhere else the school needs her to assist.

When asked what motivated Varner to become an NISD volunteer she replied, "I wanted to support my daughter's teacher.  I feel teachers need to be helped the way they want to be helped."

To date, Varner has logged 208 volunteer hours, the most of any volunteer at the school.  "She has graciously volunteered to be a Destination Imagination Manager this year," gifted and talented specialist Liz Smith said.  "We are so happy to have her as an addition to Schluter's amazing group of volunteers."

Varner said being a Schluter parent has been life changing.  "The positive energy here is contagious."
New Adopt-a-School Partners

The Adopt-a-School program creates mutually beneficial partnerships between the community and Northwest ISD.  Through this unique program, local businesses and community organizations team up with specific schools to contribute to the success of every student.  Adopting a school creates a structured partnership between an organization and a school, which can start small and strategically grow over time.  For more information about Adopt-a-School, go to www.nisdtx.org/pie .

Mathnasium of Trophy Club-represented by Owner Rose Brenner, Ed.D.  She became an Adopt-a-School partner with Beck, Cox and Lakeview elementary schools.  PIE is pleased to welcome Mathnasium as an Adopt-a-School partner.
