2016/17 Community Campaign Passes the Halfway Point
|
Thanks to the generosity of our community, United Way of Tompkins County has surpassed the million dollar mark as we continue to make progress towards our campaign goal of $2,037,800!
This important milestone has been achieved through the support of individuals, families, businesses, and non profits across Tompkins County.
Tompkins County Administrator and Chair of the 2016/17 United Way Community Campaign, Joe Mareane said, "As we pass the million dollar milestone, it is clear that those who have already given to the United Way have created a momentum of caring and generosity that will help propel us through the remainder of the campaign."
As we continue to push towards our goal, we want to thank everyone who has contributed in the early stages of our campaign. Your donations will make a concrete difference by improving the health, financial stability, and education of individuals and families across our community.

Youth & Philanthropy Grants Awarded
|
Youth and Philanthropy (YAP) provides a formal opportunity for high school students to develop leadership skills and make philanthropy an important part of their lives. Students participate in team-building and leadership activities, learn about community needs and assets, and develop financial and program assessment skills. Using these skills, students review grant applications and invest $25,000 in programs that make a difference in our community.
Cindy Noble, UWTC Youth and Philanthropy Chair, and Myriah Marnell, Tompkins Trust Company, worked with 16 YAP Council Members this year.
YAP is made possible by the generous support of the Triad Foundation.
