December 2016

It's hard to believe that we are wrapping up yet another year! During this busy time, we'd like to take a moment to stop, reflect, and thank all of our customers who have been so loyal to us for so many years. You and your pets make everyday at HEAH enjoyable and rewarding. We are lucky to serve you and help keep your pets healthy and happy throughout the year. We look forward  to seeing you and your pets in 2017, to watch your puppies and kittens grow into dogs and cats and to support them and your families as well.

Scott Cares, Sk8 to Elimin8 Cancer
Dr. House is supporting fellow figure skater Scott Hamilton's campaign to turn cancer upside down. Almost every one of us has dealt with cancer in some way. Whether it's a family member, friend, or a pet - it touches us all.

The Scott Hamilton CARES Foundation is dedicated to funding world class research and quality care to improve cancer survivorship. CARES stands for Cancer Alliance for Research, Education and Survivorship.

Please join my team by donating to this worthy cause and by sharing this with your friends. Together we can make a difference.

Holiday Pet Dangers!
The holidays are here! Now is a wonderful time to enjoy your family, friends, and pets. Remember, that certain holiday accessories and treats can be harmful to your furry friends. Check out the list of holiday dangers and tips to keep your pets safe below.

Adrienne Allen, Vet Tech

Adrienne became interested in veterinary medicine when she had her 17 year old cat neutered! Over the years she has volunteered with TNR (trap, neuter and release) and worked at a specialty hospital for 10 years.  In April of 2015, Adrienne came to us with enthusiasm and plenty of  diagnostic imaging experience. She has x-rayed a fish and preformed an MRI on a penguin! Currently, she is studying to become a Certified Veterinary Technician and we are fortunate to have her with us on Saturdays. In her spare time she takes runs with her dog and enjoys singing. We also know that she is a fabulous baker and love it when she brings us treats!!
Events and Promotions!
December is Lump and Bump Month!
A small bump on your pet can be nothing more than a fatty tumor or it can be something more serious, such as cancer. The sooner our veterinarians look at a lump, the sooner they can determine the best course of action to take. Schedule your appointment today.

January is Senior Pet Month!
Is your pet a Senior Pet? After the age of 8, your pet enters a new stage in their life cycle . When they become senior pets, screening to detect illnesses early becomes even more important. We offer several levels of testing that can help to keep your pets healthy for years to come.
February is National Dental Month!
We participate in National Dental Month each year by focusing on your pet's dental health. There are so many diseases that can be avoided by keeping your pet's mouth clean and their kisses sweet! In February, we will offer discounted rates on dental services. Look for details in our January letter.
Have a wonderful holiday season and bright start to 2017!
