Main Street to Close for Railroad Improvements

TEXRail will be closing Main Street east of Davis Boulevard from 7 a.m. Tuesday, August 1 through 7 p.m. Thursday, August 3 to replace the train tracks that cross the road. A detour will be available via Amundson Road, Mid Cities Boulevard and Davis Boulevard. The Cotton Belt Trail will remain open to pedestrians and cyclists.

Following the track replacement, additional crossing and pavement work will allow only one way traffic on Main Street through the end of September. Eastbound traffic will be detoured through August followed by westbound traffic.

Green Valley Park Playground to be Replaced

Playground closing August 7 for replacement.
Green Valley Park will be receiving a new playground in August. The new playground equipment will be supplied by KOMPAN, Inc., and will include a structure for 2-5 year olds, a structure for 5-12 year olds, swings, various spinners, and three large shade structures. Construction will begin on August 7.  During the 4 to 5 week construction period, the playground will be closed to the public. Look for updates on the city's website and on North Richland Hills Parks & Recreation Department social media pages. The playground is expected to reopen the first week in September.
Free Fall Gardening Seminar Set for August 5

Take a break from the heat and join other gardeners for a free Fall Gardening Seminar on Saturday, August 5. The seminar will be held in the Community Room at the North Richland Hills Library at 9:30 a.m. You  will learn about planting the best trees/shurbs for our area, starting seeds indoors, DIY drip irrigation, growing tomatoes and the new monarch waystation. Register Early for NRH Road Runner 5K

Beep! Beep! Early bird registration is open for the NRH Road Runner 5k Run/1 mile Walk to be held on Saturday, October 7. The NRH Road Runner 5K will benefit the Community Enrichment Center in NRH and H.E.L.P Inc., a non-profit organization that helps orphans in Nigeria. The NRH Road Runner 5K Run is a timed event that begins at Green Valley Park and winds through the beautiful John Barfield and Calloway Branch Trails.
