LA NINA MEANS WET/COOL WINTER
October and November were wet and the forecast is for a wetter than normal winter to follow due to La Nina. In October we received 8.31" of rain or 277% of normal. In November we received 5.63" of rain or 122% of normal. Over that stretch, we had measurable rain 48 out of 61 days. To make landscape life even more difficult, November was a balmy 5.3 degrees above normal.

The   Winter Forecast reports for cooling to at or even below normal but the precipitation is anticipated to be wetter than normal due to La Nina . We are closely monitoring the forecast as it impacts our normal operations as well as our Snow and Ice Services . We are also monitoring winter precipitation and snow-pack as it impacts our water supply for the coming summer. Luckily, the frustrating wet fall and winter should lead to a good water year this summer.
