MMA Members to Testify in St. Cloud on T21 Ordinance

MMA-backed Ordinance Restricting Menthol Tobacco Passes in St. Paul
On Nov. 1, the Saint Paul City Council voted 6-1 to pass an ordinance that will restrict the sale of menthol tobacco products to adult-only tobacco shops and liquor stores. Read more here.

Call for Submissions: Medical students, Residents and Fellows
Minnesota Medicine is inviting medical students, residents and fellows to submit abstracts of original research or clinical vignettes by Jan. 27, 2018. The submissions demonstrating appropriate quality will be selected for publication in the magazine and authors will be invited to present their work in a poster session at the MMA's 2018 Annual Conference in St. Paul. Submissions should be no longer than 500 words plus references. Research abstracts should include a brief description of the research problem, methodology and results, and a discussion of the findings. Clinical vignettes should include a description of the case, the diagnosis and treatment approach, and a discussion of the implications of the case. Submit your abstracts and vignettes here. Early Access to Super Bowl LII Tickets for MMA Members

Policy Council Positions Available for MMA Members
The MMA is looking to fill several vacancies on the MMA Policy Council effective Jan. 1, 2018. The 40-member group, which was created in 2013, provides a representative mechanism for obtaining broad member input, feedback, and ideas on critical health policy issues facing Minnesota physicians.
