Church-Wide Events
This Sunday - Pastor Gary will be bringing us Part 1 of a new teaching series called Resilient. The title is "Shattering the Lies."

The focus of Belong: The Journey this Sunday will be on "Connect."

Fall Back - Remember to set your clocks back an hour on Saturday night as Daylight Saving Time draws to a close!
A special offering will be received this Sunday for our daughter church in Medellín, Colombia, which was unexpectedly hit with a fee of $18,000 upon the building of their their new church facility.

New Way to Give - Both for this special offering and for "regular" offerings, we are introducing "Text To Give." Here are the instructions:

Soaking Prayer – Looking for an opportunity to spend time in the presence of God, and to press in for breakthrough in your life? Join us on Saturday, November 18, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. for a time of soaking prayer. It will be led by Scott and Lisa Hurst in the Oasis. All are welcome.
Water Baptism - If you desire to be water baptized on Sunday morning, November 19, please plan to attend an instructional class either this Sunday from 9 to 10:15 a.m. in Conference 228 (Office Wing) OR next Sunday from 11 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. Water baptism at Petra is for anyone at least 10 years old who desires to be baptized, including those who were too young to understand a previous baptism and those who made a re-commitment to the Lord and wish to be baptized a second time.You may still sign up online , via the Petra App, or by coming to the baptism class. Please note there will be no Children's Church for kids in K-Grade 4 on Baptism Sunday; children will be joining their parents in the Sanctuary.
New Software - Petra is moving to a new kind of church record-keeping solution called Realm . It will primarily serve the administrative needs of our staff but will also offer some exciting opportunities to support the way we are involved in the church; it will make it easier for us to connect with each other, keep up with what's going on, and grow as a connected community of believers. In the coming months, Realm will open up a whole new opportunity for each of us to connect with groups, events, and registration for events.

Hopewell Network History Published - A new book authored by Pastor Lester and Lisa Betz is available for $5 in the Resource Center and at the West Hub. It's entitled The Handprint of God, History of the Hopewell Network. Learn about the Hopewell Revival which led to the planting of Petra! Please pay at the West Hub.

CD Set Available - The "All In" teaching series is now available in the Resource Center. Please pay at the West Hub.
Episode 61 - The Messy Faith of Abraham Lincoln - Faith in History Series - Join hosts Gary Buck, Jamie Detweiler, and Chris Buck as they discuss the messy but honest faith of Abraham Lincoln. He is perhaps the most revered president in the history of the United States, but what did he believe, and how did his faith affect his presidency? What are the lessons we can learn from his life and apply them to our world today?

DOVE/Hopewell Ministry Training - The theme of this training next Friday evening and Saturday, November 10-11, is "Helping People Find Freedom." Learn how to set people free and to make them whole in body, soul, and spirit. Partial scholarships for Petra attenders are available upon request. Eastgate House of Prayer
Join us this Tuesday at 7 p.m. for a time of Worship with the Word. Wondering what Worship with the Word is all about? This is a time to meditate on the Word, allowing God's truth to speak to your heart. As you spend time quieting your mind and directing your heart in love toward him, listen and write down any revelation or thoughts. He's a good Father, and loves to communicate with his children!

Since it's a first Tuesday of the month, we also have ministry slots available if you would like to receive healing and/or prophetic ministry . Please contact D'Lury Geiger at  djhg55@yahoo.com  to secure a ministry session. Childcare is provided through age 7. All are welcome!

Senior Adult Ministry
Mark your calendars for the 2017 Senior Adult Christmas Brunch on Saturday, December 2, at 8:30 a.m. in the Café. The brunch, catered by Yoder's Deli, will cost $10 per person. Sign up in the lobby beginning next Sunday, November 12.
Young Marrieds at Petra
Join us for a potluck meal on Sunday, November 12, from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Oasis (new location). Couples should bring either a hot or cold dish. Pastors Brian and Tracy Coles will be sharing their marriage journey after the meal. Child care will be provided during the speaking time.
Petra Women
Save the Date! Petra Women is excited to announce its first-ever Christmas Boutique! It will be held on Saturday, December 9, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the MPR and Café. This fun-filled day will include yummy food, music, and amazing opportunities to do Christmas shopping among friends! The Boutique will offer lots of handcrafted items and more. Kingdom Kids
Operation Christmas Child - This Sunday again we are offering a special "Treasure Chest Store" in the Atrium that will enable you to buy gifts and supplies for your Operation Christmas Child shoebox. Please bring your filled boxes to the church by next Sunday, when they will be publicly dedicated.
Petra's SNAP Ministry is hosting a "No Shushing" Movie Night tomorrow (Friday) at 7 p.m. in the Oasis! Join us for a FREE movie night the whole family can enjoy! We don't mind if you lay down, stand up, walk around, or make noise during the movie! Bring your own blanket.
ToySpring Yard Sale - Turn your new or gently-used toys and books into clean water for children in Africa. How?

  • Bring your new or gently-used toys, books, puzzles, games, and unopened craft supplies to the Kids Hub by this Sunday, or drop them off at the church office next week during office hours.

  • Come to the MPR next Saturday, November 11, from 8 to 10 a.m. to find great deals for Christmas gifts. Invite others too!

Local Outreach
2017 Extraordinary Give - Several local ministries supported by Petra are among the 750 ministries and nonprofit community organizations that have signed up to take part in this year's Extraordinary Give. Extraordinary Give is a Lancaster County 24-hour online giving marathon taking place on Friday, November 17, from 12 midnight to 11:59 p.m. Every dollar donated online will be stretched by at least $500,000 from the Lancaster County Community Foundation and various sponsors. Global Missions
Mission Prayer Focus - Alex and Jodi Seidler serve on staff with Campus Target, a ministry focused on evangelism and church planting on college campuses in Asia. They are working out of the Campus Target office in Lima, NY, helping to send missionaries to Asia. Pray for God’s anointing as they train and equip others to go, and for God’s provision for them. Pray also for them as they prepare to transition to some new mission roles with Elim Fellowship in the coming months.

Lasagna Fundraiser Meal - How about some steaming hot lasagna and more this Sunday? The proceeds will go toward Marta Estrada, a Petra missionary serving as director of Restoration of the Nations, a ministry that seeks to bring freedom and healing to women in addiction throughout the world. This fundraiser is specifically for Marta's mission trip to Thailand in early 2018. Take-outs will be available at 10:30 a.m.

Fundraising Event - Join ZOE International missionaries Brad and Lori Ortenzi on the Road of Justice Coast 2 Coast Cycling Challenge t o End Child Trafficking ! It's from April 28 - June 23, 2018. The Challenge begins in Yorktown, VA, and ends in Santa Monica, CA. Check out the itinerary here to join the ride for one day, two days, three to six days, or the entire 57 days.
