From Council President Tom Croce

As the year closes I write this note of reflection and deep gratitude. When I said YES to the call of church leadership I thought- "How hard can this be? I run a manufacturing operation." What I found is that Church leadership is different in many ways and requires a spiritual element that can hardly be named. Over these past two years, serving as Vice -Chair and Chair/President I have grown deeper in my faith and closer in relationships to many of you. I thank God for this opportunity and look forward to continuing to serve as Past- Chair/President as we now take time to consider the path that God is leading Hosanna.
This note also comes with an invitation to help us end 2016 strong and be ready to enter 2017. Your dollars make the difference.
First, thank you all for the many ways that you engage in the mission and ministry of Hosanna that we LIVE, LOVE and SERVE so that all may know Jesus. From Faith Formation Guides and Friends to Hospitality Teams, from Musical groups and Choirs to Kitchen Crews, from Prison Ministry to the Facilities Team- the giving of your
time, talent and treasure is greatly appreciated.
THANK YOU!
- Because of you, your children and youth learn how much God loves them through KIDTALK, at connect360, and in confirmation!
- Because of you, AA and Alanon Groups are able to meet weekly to grow in fellowship.
- Because of you, our facility remains a strong asset enabling us to host special events like the Lakes Area FMSC MobilePack- engaging volunteers, opening our doors to the community, plus feeding kids!
- Because of you, we care for others in our neighborhoods and all around the world through giving beyond our doors.
Many of you have already given year-end gifts and so this note also says THANK YOU for your continued support. At the end of November we were approximately $40,000 behind to budget. We are currently up to date on our bills however we do have some year-end obligations that have yet to be paid, a few purchases that can no longer be put off and our staff received no financial increase in 2016.
We need your help- together we can end strong so that we can confidently begin 2017. Thank you all for considering a year-end gift in support of your church. See below for the ways to give a year-end gift to Hosanna.
Finally, thank you for the many ways that you have supported Hosanna and the Church Council. It has not gone unnoticed and is truly appreciated.
Merry Christmas to you and your families and Peace as we prepare to enter 2017~ Tom Croce (Hosanna Church Council President)
- Mail to the church (9300 Scandia Trail N, Forest Lake MN 55025).

- Come to the church in person and drop it off (Open hours this week are 8am - 5pm Monday-Friday)

A Note From The Church Council
|
|
From the Church Council:
As we come to the end of 2016, we want to thank you for your generous gifts throughout the year to support the ministries of Hosanna Lutheran Church.
Thanks to the generosity of many people Hosanna continues to thrive; worship continues to ground us in God's Word of grace, children and youth continue to learn the faith through education and service, we care for others through Coats for Kids, FMSC and more. As you plan your year-end charitable contributions we hope that you will consider a special gift to your church home.
As you consider your charitable gifts between now and the end of the year, remember that gifts made now can generate income tax deductions. To receive a credit for the 2016 calendar year for tax purposes, all gifts need to be postmarked or directed to the Hosanna by December 31, 2016. Your year end gift can be placed in the offering basket, sent to the church office or given online from the church website on or before December 31, 2016-
http://www.hosannaforestlake.net/giving/ .
Your gifts make such a positive difference. Thank you!

Forest Lake Senior Center is sponsoring this program that offers comfort, security, and autonomy for senior citizens, disabled, or anyone who may lack an ongoing support system. The FL Senior Center realizes that many senior citizens live alone and may not have a family member living locally. This program is not intended to replace any contacts with family or friend but rather offer an added source of knowing you are being checked on daily. This is a FREE service and all that participants need is a home telephone to receive daily calls. As a member, you select the time of day they wish to be called. You will be called the same time each and every day. In the event that numerous attempts to reach you have failed, an welfare check will be arranged to check on you. This may be a Forest Lake Police Officer
