All Saints/All Souls Liturgy & Scholarship Awards

The Resurrection school community celebrated an all-school Mass today, November 1, 2017, to honor our beloved deceased and to pray for and remember all who have gone before us.  Thank you to all who submitted names of their beloved dead or who participated in this beautiful liturgy.

Following the liturgy, scholarships were awarded to Resurrection students for the 2017-18 school year. Thank you to the donors who joined us for the program. We are grateful for the generous support of our alumnae, parents and donors who make these scholarships possible!

Mandatory Cash Raffle

The second Cash Raffle drawing for our mandatory fundraiser took place following the all-school liturgy on  November 1, 2017. The $100 student winner was Giuliana LaPorte and the $1,500 winner was Jeff Rager (ticket was sold by Jada Santiago).

The final drawing will be held on December 8, 2017, for $2,500. Please submit ticket stubs and payment as you sell your tickets. Each school family is required to fulfill a $200 Mandatory Fundraising Fee by selling Cash Raffle Tickets. Tuition Assistance families MUST sell these tickets and turn in $200 or more before the final drawing on December 8, 2017, in order to receive their full Tuition Assistance. Non Tuition Assistance families that choose NOT to sell tickets will be billed for $200 on their February 2018 tuition statement. Your UNSOLD tickets must be returned and you will NOT be entered into any of the drawings.

As you know, tuition does not cover the cost of a Resurrection education. During the past school year, tuition covered less than 80% of the actual costs. Parents, alumnae, and friends of Resurrection helped to fill the gap. Last year, each student received a subsidy of $3,878 or 26% of her educational costs. This is why we count on your ongoing support of our fundraising efforts.

Shakespeare's  The Tempest is thought to be one of the last plays he ever wrote.  The story of Prospero, the wronged Duke of Milan, and his young daughter Miranda begins with their exile to a magical island at the hands of Prospero's greedy brother, Antonio.  On the island, they encounter Caliban, a monster of the island, and Ariel, a magical sprite who (a little unwillingly) helps them enact justice upon those who have wronged them.  Along the way, they'll meet King Alonso, and his son Ferdinand (who soon sets his eyes on fair Miranda), the King's evil brother Sebastian, advisor to the King, Gonzalo, and two clownish butlers Stephano and Trinculo, who enact much chaos about the island.
