Member Communities Update
We are pleased to announce that the build-out of the Member Communities feature on our website and database has been completed.  These communities:
  • Give members an opportunity to connect on topics and issues that are of common interest to the community
  • Provide education and networking opportunities for constituents in a collaborative, interactive, and less formal setting
  • Will be managed electronically and all members are encouraged to join as many communities as desired

Once we have completed our Ambassador Training Session, we will notify all members of the Community Launch.  Please be sure to watch your emails, and if you have any questions, email info@bsas.org.

BSAS Sustainable Investing Seminar: Moving into the Mainstream
A view from the outside
ByAriel Fromer Babcock, CFA
On Thursday November 17th BSAS assembled an impressive roster of leaders in the sustainable investment field to discuss the industry, recent developments, challenges, and outlook as ESG/SRI principles are increasingly incorporated into more traditional asset management strategies. The morning keynote speaker, John Streur, President & CEO of Calvert Investments, kicked the day off with a succinct summary of the basic tenants of responsible investing:
        • Be a good steward of capital;
        • Understand the full set of impacts of a company's activities;
        • Engage with company management to push improvement; and
        • Extend the benefits of the capital markets to those most in need to drive innovation that benefits all.

Practitioner Insights: Macro Challenges and Valuation Implications
Date: December 8, 2016,  Time: 7:00-8:00 a.m.
Speakers: David B. Stevens, CFA, and Prashant Trivedi, CFA

Macro challenges have been occurring at an unabated pace. In particular, developed market central banks have been unable to reverse their easy money policies. A rising share of developed market sovereign bonds has been offering sub-zero yields. Are risk-free rates, free of risk anymore?

David B. Stevens, CFA, senior investment strategist with the Private Bank at Wells Fargo, and Prashant Trivedi, CFA, founder and chairman of Multi Act, an equity research and consultancy firm, will discuss the equity valuation implications of the ongoing macro challenges. Among others, this webinar will provide a valuation framework and practical insights from real life case studies. Shreenivas Kunte, CFA, director, Content, CFA Institute, will moderate the webinar session.
