A look back at some of our 2016 events...
Holiday for Her with Ellie Holcomb
What a special night! A huge thank you to everyone who had a part. God has blessed the Women's Ministry this year, and we give God the glory for His faithfulness and guiding us along the way. Women of all ages enjoyed a wonderful evening with delicious food, beautiful decorations, a special message from Tom Fuerst, heartfelt and worshipful music by Ellie and an encouraging benediction by Cassie Fuerst to send us off into the special season.

Even though Ellie was not feeling her best and had sick children at home, she did not leave until she had spoken and taken pictures with everyone who requested it. She was amazing!

Quotes from attendees:

"Last night just couldn't have been any more perfect. From the food to the decor to the performance and witness by Ellie to the message by Tom to the benediction by Cassie, it was just perfect."

"You know how God just uses something in your life right at that moment to draw you to Him? Well He did that tonight! THANK YOU!"

"Amazing night! It couldn't have been any nicer or more special. The food was delicious, loved the recipe book and sweet Ellie Holcomb was inspirational, fun, sang her heart out and was a blessing."

Candy in the Courtyard/Cake Walk

On October 30, our Children's Ministry hosted a Candy in the Courtyard event. The weather was perfect, and the day was a wonderful chance to mix and mingle with the young families of CUMC. The Women's Ministry hosted a Cake Walk where we gave away cakes, cookies, cupcakes and candy. Adults and children shared in the joy of winning the home-baked treats, and a good time was had by all.
UMW Fall Fundraiser

In October, our annual UMW Fall Fundraiser was held in Seabrook Hall. The room was abuzz with excitement as many folks found treasures and delicious baked goodies too! Many were excited that this year the sale was open for an extended time frame, giving those who work the chance to shop on the way home. Mark your calendar for next year's sale, November 4, 2017.

College Football Food Drive

The inaugural College Football Food Drive to benefit the Mid-South Food Bank was a huge success! The UofM was the overall winner, amassing almost 1,200 points. Thanks to everyone who donated food or money. And remember, the real winners are those who will benefit from your donations.
Love & Laughter Marriage Conference

In September, we had the honor of serving with the Coupled in Christ Sunday school class to host Ted Cunningham at a marriage conference. Delicious food, a "not so" newlywed game and the hilarity that comes with Ted are just a few of the weekend's highlights. There were breakout classes on Saturday morning where couples could dive deeper into the issues they face, and we were brought back together with Ted for encouragement and, of course, laughter. Check out this video for a snippet of what he shared.
Women's Retreat: Rest, Revive, Remain
Karen Barrows

Our third annual Women's Retreat in August was a huge success! Many women from all walks of life were in attendance, and new relationships were made. As we heard testimonies and preaching from Karen Barrows, the women of Christ Church learned new ways to rest in the fullness of God. Karen came to us from South Florida and recently joined the church. She is in love with the Lord, and being in her presence, that is easy to see. Her transparency was a breath of fresh air.

We shared in wonderful worship with our own Abbye Pates. There were opportunities for painting, small groups and a prayer walk about the lake. The retreat was held at Country Place in Moscow, TN. The serene location made for the perfect relaxing environment, and it was easy to slip into the "retreat" mindset. If you missed our retreat, make plans to join us August 25-26 for the 2017 retreat.
