Many thanks to Sabrina Jones for the Pumpkin Carving Contest. There were so many enterants!

Thanks, too, to all the parents who helped with classroom celebrations.  The day went without a hitch and everyone had a great time at Old McMurwood's Farm!

From the PTA President

October was a busy month filled with so many fun activities for our children.  All of these great events like the Book Fair, Fall Festival and the Pumpkin Carving Contest wouldn't be possible with out the amazing support from our parent community.  I would like to thank those who took the lead on each because they poured so much time and energy into these events, so that our children could have the best experience ever.  Thank you to Andrea Slavet for heading up the Book Fair, Rose Stein for an amazing Fall Festival and Sabrina Jones for the Pumpkin Carving Contest.  If you see any of these parents walking the halls, take a moment to say thank you!!

Our Annual Auction is coming up in February.  Planning is already underway, it's a great way to get involved and help raise funds for our school.  Tickets will go on sale soon.  Look for ways to help out in the E-news.

Halloween Candy Donations

Have some extra candy after the big holiday?  Please share your bounty of wonderful treats with those servicemen and women who are far away from home and could use a little cheer.  If you would like to write a card thanking them for their service, that would be appreciated as well. Bring your treats (wrapped candy only please) or cards to the office, before  Nov. 8 , where a box bound for the Blue Star Moms of Danville is waiting.
Pumpkin Carving Contest

Thank you to everyone who submitted a jack-o-lantern for the Pumpkin Carving Contest! Take a look at our Grand Prize Winner!
Librarian's Corner

We had such a great Wild West Book Fair this year!.  Our book fair was a huge success once again due to the work of our volunteers and all the families who made purchases from the vast selection of books sent to our school by Scholastic. A huge thank you to Andrea Slavet who provided decorations, inspiration and daily support throughout the whole week.  Our sales were up from last year!  All profits go directly to our school library for new book purchases.

It's time to update our cashometers again.
To date, we've raised $600,000 towards our $1,000,000 goal. We need everyone to share our message that WCEF is committed to making academic excellence an innovation a reality for the 5,100 students we serve.
