Welcome Aboard Cowen Harter

I am so pleased to be joining the St. Patrick's staff as the Interim Communications Director! For those of you who may not know me, I have been a member at St. Patrick's for over 30 years. I am married to Biff Harter and we have two wonderful children - James (27) and Cate (25). Professionally, I was trained as an educator. I taught high school math, was a high school administrator, was an Accountability Specialist at both the Governor's Office of Student Achievement and the Georgia Department of Education (GaDOE), served as Director of Accountability at GaDOE, and served as a District Effectiveness Specialist at West Georgia Regional Educational Service Agency. In my spare time I like to make jewelry, collage and paint, work out, and travel. If allowed, I would wear my slippers all day every day!

As the Interim Communications Director, my work will include but is not limited to the following: Shamrocks, bulletin announcements, website updates, ministry heads liaison, and much more. My office hours are Mondays and Wednesdays from 8am - 4pm. Please do not hesitate to reach out to me with your communication needs at [email protected].

Children's Formation Update: This week the class learned that AGAPE means Love, and love comes in many forms. Loving God means loving everyone (the most important comm  andment).   Emotional, soulful, mindful and physical - it was an amazing class with insights you had to be there to appreciate.  We took a tour to see how St. Patrick's shows its Generosity of Love by learning more about Malachi's Closet and Storehouse.  Love also means playing floor Tic Tac Toe with activities for each square - our kids know how to hop and hug!

Youth Formation Update: The Journey To Adulthood YEA class is currently preparin g for Confirmation. Last Sunday the class learned about the prayer book and this coming Sunday they learn about the meaning of the sacraments as well as spent time at the altar. This class is open to all youth grades 10-12.  Please contact Liz Beal ( [email protected]) for more information.

The Rev. Sarah Fisher Installation: Hi St. Pat's friends! I would love to see some of your faces at St. Catherine's on November 15th! With love, Sarah/Mofi.

Stewardship In-gathering and Thanksgiving Potluck: Please plan to join us on Sunday, November 19th! Bring your pledge cards with you to the service to be blessed. Then stay for our Parish Thanksgiving Potluck Lunch after the 10:30 am service. St. Patrick's will provide the turkey and a vegetarian option. Like last year, please bring your favorite side dish to share and/or a dessert. Your Parish Events team will also need some volunteer help, please:
a) kitchen prep and receiving of dishes starting at 9 am
b) set out of food right after communion
c) and of course no feast comes without the need of  a clean -up team
If you would like to help on the day, please ping Alison Forbes ( [email protected]  or 678-644-5553) so we can plan more effectively.
