Parent-Teacher Conferences - Tomorrow!
On Thursday, Nov. 2, H-F faculty will be available for Parent-Teacher Conferences during an afternoon session from 1:30-3:30 p.m. and from 6:30-8:30 p.m. in the evening session to meet one-on-one with parents and guardians. In order to allow teachers time to prepare for the meetings, students will be dismissed at 11:30 a.m. that day.  The academic schedule for the remainder of this week is:
    • Wednesday, Nov. 1 - Regular Wednesday Block Day (Periods 1-7-6-5-4)
    • Thursday, Nov. 2 - Regular Thursday Block Day with student dismissal at 11:30 a.m. (Periods 1-2-3)
    • Friday, Nov. 3 - Institute Day (No school for students)
H-F conferences use a format known as arena conferencing, instead of an individual-classroom format. Faculty and staff will all be located in the North Building's Fieldhouse seated by department and will be available to meet on a first-come, first-served basis. No appointments are necessary. If you have questions about conferences, please contact Principal Dr. Jerry Lee Anderson at 708-335-5541.

The day following conferences (Friday, Nov. 3) is an Institute Day with no classes being held for students. If you are a Class of 2018 senior who has not yet taken a senior portrait, you can get this done on Friday in the North Building Staff Cafeteria.

You're Invited: Fine Arts Facility Expansion Meetings

District 233 is entering the next exciting phase of its Long Range Facilities & Maintenance Plan, a plan that ensures as H-F's curriculum evolves and as technology continues to influence teaching and learning, the school's facilities can meet the expectations and needs of future students. This phase of the plan may involve the creation of additional Fine Arts classrooms and performance space, as well as the renovation of current Fine Arts spaces. Nearly 1,000 H-F students (one out of three students) are currently enrolled in a Fine Arts class, and the numbers have been increasing steadily the past several years. The district has been carefully saving funds for this project for this growing department, and it anticipates being able to fully fund this project with capital project dollars with no additional tax burden placed upon the community. H-F invites you to learn more at an upcoming community meeting:
  • Monday, Nov. 6, 7 p.m. in South Building Cafeteria (general community)
  • Tuesday, Nov. 7, 7 p.m. in South Building Cafeteria (Fine Arts parents)
  • Wednesday, Nov. 8, 7 p.m. in South Building Cafeteria (Fine Arts parents)
  • Thursday, Nov. 9, 9 a.m. in South Building TLC (general community)
  • Thursday, Nov. 9, 7 p.m. in South Building Cafeteria (general community)
