Educational Discussion regarding Recreational Marijuana
Wednesday, November 1st, 7:00 PM
Claypit Hill Elementary School
Sponsored by the Elementary School Principals and WaylandCares

With recreational marijuana now being legal in Massachusetts we have an ever changing and expanding market. Marijuana is now available in many forms including candy, baked goods, oils, concentrates, vape products as well as smokeable marijuana.
Join us for an educational discussion regarding recreational marijuana, new marijuana products, the law and how it impacts families in our community.
This event will help you to start or continue a dialogue with your child and will provide an opportunity for questions and community dialogue.

Parents of all age youth welcome.

WaylandCares presents Shaun Derik
Thursday, November 7th, 7:30 PM
Wayland Middle School

"Oh to look back over your life only to realize... you weren't there," Shaun expresses in his timely workshop,  Being T.H.E.R.E. "

Wanting to CONNECT with young people? You're not alone! In 2013, according to a Microsoft study on "the effects of today's digital world," the attention span of the average American was less than that of a goldfish... 8 seconds. With the onslaught of smart phones, social media and reality TV, connecting with young people is becoming more and more competitive. In Being T.H.E.R.E., Shaun Derik takes you on a journey into the minds of some of the most influential people of our time, exploring the 5 common traits that made them all effective leaders. Through rhythm, humor and heavy audience participation, Shaun helps adults learn to be sincere, direct and present when working with young people and youth advocates.

Please join us in the WMS auditorium for this program just for you!

THERE IS STILL TIME TO DONATE TO YOUR PTO!

Here in Wayland the PTO made a commitment that we wouldn't ask children or families to sell anything in order to do fundraising. Instead, we ask each family to contribute at the beginning of each school year to help fund all the things the PTO does to support our teachers and staff and to make sure that our school is great. After all, that's why we all live here right? Because we want our kids to have a great educational experience.

The PTO is supporting that educational experience by supporting teachers, funding innovative ideas and providing enrichment programs. Please do your part if you can and Gift Your Child at  www.waylandpto.org   (and it's tax deductible!)
