Set in western Massachusetts, these traditional mysteries feature Meg Corey, who has lost her job in Boston and heads out to the rural town of Granford to fix up an old house her mother inherited. She finds herself enjoying the place and its people and history; she decides to stay and learn how to manage the old apple orchard on the property. She soon becomes a suspect in a murder and has to figure out 'who dunnit' to clear herself. She goes on to unravel many more mysteries in the town. The plots keep you guessing, and with the setting, Connolly's well written mysteries offer a lovely mix of local history, genealogy, and information on house restoration and Massachusetts agriculture, orchards, and heritage apples. SHEILA CONNOLLY had many careers before becoming a writer, including professional genealogist, art historian, and non-profit fund raiser. Connolly is a Mayflower descendant, and she is also an Irish citizen and owns a cottage in West Cork. She lives in eastern Massachusetts.
