Limits For The Sulphur Content of Marine Fuels

Sulphur and other pollutant emission limits have been imposed on ships operating within the North European Emission Control Areas for Sulphur (SECAs) since 2015. Compliance with these requirements however have been more difficult with method of policing and verification not yet establish. New studies have focused on the use of Aerial Drone based chemical analyzers such as DR1000 Flying Laboratory for monitoring of ship emissions entering and leaving populated ports. The DR1000 can provide a full list of emissions from the ship's exhaust before the ship even docks.

Free Webinar: Air Quality Monitoring and Odour Assessment in Refineries

Free Online Webinar, Wednesday  Jan. 18th 2017, 10:00 AM , Toronto time (-05:00)  Eastern Time (US & Canada).

Refineries are arguably the most complex of industries for assessment of odour and air pollutant emission. Traditional direct source sampling is inadequate due to the large fugitive and flare emissions presented in a typical refinery. Mr. Medina will review new technologies and methods of assessing and monitoring odour and air pollutant impact through presentation of real world case studies. Find out how Scentroid's team conducts odour assessment on some of the world's largest refineries.

Alternative Strategies for Reducing Odour Complaint
There are many different approaches to reducing odour complaints but the most commonly pursued methods are based on emission reduction. This is achieved as either process optimization or odour control systems. However there are alternative methods that may provide a much more cost effective and efficient odour complaint management such as scheduling odour causing activities based on favorable weather conditions. In this article, a new alternative strategy is presented that can be used in conjunction with any of the above methods for
further enhancement of the plant's odour complaint
management.   Read More

Scentroid Innovations of 2016

DR1000 Flying Lab
The Scentroid DR1000 consists of a flying laboratory and a commercial drone. The DR1000 can be used to sample and analyze ambient air at heights of up to 150 meters above ground level that was previously impossible to accomplish. Air quality mapping, model verification, analysis of potentially dangerous sites are all made possible by this novel innovation.   read more

SL50 Scentinal:
Scentinal provides ambient odour emission monitoring based on high accuracy (ppb level) detection of odorous gases such as H2S, Ammonia, VOCs, and SO2. The flexible intelligent station allows live monitoring of plant emissions on Scentroid's cloud servers. Odour emission is reported in OU/m3 based on correlation determined based on periodic measurements using field olfactometry. read more

SS400 Olfactometer:
Scentroid SS400 olfactometer is an advance mobile 6 station portable olfactometer. The Six Station Portable Olfactometer SS400 is used to assess odour concentration from a sample using 2 presentation modes (Binary or Yes/No) by fulfilling the requirements of the EN13725 and VDI 3881 standards. TR8+ Pollutracker :
Scentroid Pollutracker TR8+ is a complete air quality mobile laboratory. This instrument allows the user to measure hundreds of chemicals using up to 10 sensors and analyzers including Photo-Ionization Detectors (PID) sensors, Non-dispersive Infrared (NDIR) sensors, Electrochemical and Metal Oxide sensors.  Read more
