The Liberty Public Schools Board of Education met for its regular meeting on Monday, December 19, 2016.  Following, is a recap of that meeting:
Meeting Highlights
Dr. Michelle Schmitz Recognized
The Board congratulated EPiC Elementary Principal Dr. Michelle Schmitz for recently being named Distinguished Principal of the Year for the Clay-Platte Region by the Missouri Association of Elementary School Principals. Dr. Schmitz is one of only twelve principals from the state to receive this recognition and will be recognized at the association's spring conference at the Lake of the Ozarks this spring.  Congratulations Dr. Schmitz!  
Board Business
Board Presented with '17-'18 District Calendar
Highlighting new business agenda items was a first read by the Board of Education to approve the 2017-2018 district academic calendar. The recommendation originally came from the district's internal committee, Team Liberty, following feedback from various stakeholder groups and discussion. Dr. Tucker then presented this version to the Board in its recommended form. To view this recommended calendar, click here. The '17-'18 district calendar is expected to be approved at the regular January 17 Board meeting.

Next Board Meeting Scheduled for Tuesday, Jan. 17

The Board will hold its next regular meeting on Tuesday, January 17, at the District Administration Center. The meeting will begin at 7 p.m.
Ways to Stay Informed on Board Happenings

The public has several opportunities to stay informed of LPS Board of Education happenings. Following, are methods in which monthly Board meetings may be viewed.

 

Channel 18 Coverage

Liberty Public Schools Cable Television Channel, KLPS-TV Channel 18, records each Board meeting that takes place on the third Monday of each month and replays the meeting for approximately one week, usually beginning the Thursday following the regularly-scheduled meeting. They will be shown daily at 8 a.m.  Households need to have Time Warner Cable service to receive Channel 18 programming.
