Community Thanksgiving Service
Community Thanksgiving Service
Sunday, November 19th
7:00 p.m.
Calvary Lutheran Church, 950 Bradley St, Concord will be hosting an Ecumenical Thanksgiving Service on Sunday, November 19th.   Eight area churches will be participating:
All Saints Episcopal              Calvary Lutheran
Central United Methodist      Epworth United Methodist
First Presbyterian                 Forest Hill United Methodist
Mt. Hermon Lutheran           Saint James Lutheran
There will be a combined choir from the participating churches.  You are invited to bring canned food for CCM and an offering will be received to support this community ministry.  A time of fellowship will follow the service in the Fellowship Hall, and  a nursery will be provided.
Wednesday Night Fellowship
November 8th
Building on our church's role as an Earthcare Congregation, Glenda Steel will be sharing a portion of the movie, Hometown Habitat, which prominently features Dr. Doug Tallamy, whose research and book challenges the notion that humans are here and nature is someplace else. All of us have the power to support habitat for wildlife and bring natural beauty to our patch of the earth.   Dr. John Benbow, former chair of the North Carolina Wildlife Federation (NCWF) and Dennis Testerman, Moderator of Presbyterians for Earth Care, will also be joining Glenda.
Menu:  lemon chicken, potato casserole, broccoli, fruit, dessert.
