Ben's Buzz:

December 21, 2016

Dear BFCCPS Community, I can't begin to thank you enough for all of your support of the Santa Foundation!

Students in Grades 6-8 were nominated  by their homeroom teachers to help with the final step of the service project. They helped personally address the gifts to the recipients, verify that the all the gifts made it to the proper family, and re-wrapped anything that might have been damaged during transit. A special thanks to the parent volunteers that spent the morning with us to supervise the final gift assembly!

A hearty congratulations to all students in Grades 5 - 8 for an incredibly successful Social Studies Fair. Your projects and presentations were outstanding! You can find a photo gallery from the event here.

Please remember that this  Friday, December 23rd will be an early release at noon for Winter Break!

School will also be closed on Monday, January 2nd. We look forward to seeing everyone when classes will resume on Tuesday, January 3rd.

Have a great rest of the week!

Heather Zolnowski
Head of School
Enrollment

Applications now available for 2017-2018 School Year.

If you have students who are eligible for Kindergarten in the 2017-2018 school year it is now time to place their application for enrollment! Also, if you have students who are currently on the waiting list for grades K-8 you  must reaffirm your desire for enrollment at BFCCPS with a new  application.  We also hope that you will tell your friends and neighbors who might have interest in joining us at BFCCPS!

Applications can be  filled out online and hard copies are also available in the front office.   All applications must be received before February 14th by 4pm.  Late applications will not be accepted.

Inclement Weather

Winter is here! Please be sure to send your students daily with seasonally appropriate outerwear. We will continue to have outdoor courtyard, recess and dismissal whenever possible.

In the event of a weather related closure or delay please note the following:
  • If Franklin Public Schools are cancelled or delayed, BFCCPS is usually cancelled or delayed.
  • Look or listen for "FRANKLIN PUBLIC SCHOOLS" on local radio and TV. BFCCPS follows the cancellation and delays of the Franklin Public Schools in most cases.
    • TV Stations: Channels 25(Fox), 4 (WBZ), 5 (WCVB), 7(WHDH) and 10 (WJAR NBC)-RI
    • Radio: WBZ (1030 AM), WMRC (1490 AM)
    • Online (TV station websites):  WBZ (CBS) | WCVB (ABC) | WFXT (FOX) | WHDH (NBC)
  • We use the notification system  through School Brains to notify you by phone and email with information of school cancellations and delays.

Over the holiday break you should have received a letter from the Board of Trustees asking for your generous support of our  Annual Appeal

We realize that there are frequent fundraising requests placed on behalf of the school, however this particular request is specifically focused on the BFCCPS technology plan and will fund the purchase of additional Chromebooks, iPads and improved WiFi connectivity.  As a non-profit organization your donations are tax deductible.

Weekly drawings will be held each Friday during the month of December, so the earlier you're able to donate, the more chances you will have to win. Congratulations to the Vazquez family who won the first of two Chromebooks!

There is one remaining chances to win a Chromebook from our generous technology partners - you'll earn a chance at winning the last Chromebooks for each donation of $100 to the annual appeal. We thank you in advance for your generosity to this year's campaign.
