Little Stallions Wrestling Club
St. Francis DeSales Feeder School students and Central Ohio Area students in grades 1-8 are invited to be a part of the Little Stallion Wrestling Club. The Little Stallion Wrestling Club will begin November 29 at 5:45pm in the DeSales Wrestling room. Be a part of the best wrestling tradition in Central Ohio, build physical and mental skills for life, and join the Little Stallion Wrestling Club. Stallions in the Spotlight
PLEASE VOTE for the University of Cincinnati Conference of Engineers without Borders! Alumni Emily Piatt (2015) and Nicole Rhoads (2017) are active members of this great organization. They work in local communities in conjunction with Habitat for Humanity and will be traveling within the U.S. over Winter Break to help rebuild communities that have faced disaster. They also have several active projects in Tanzania, Africa for which they provide year round support and planning and send groups typically twice a year to assess community needs and implement sustainable solutions. Emily participated on one such trip in August 2016 to build a water distribution system to several communities from a drinking water source created during a previous trip.

Parents, alumni, past parents, faculty and staff, and friends gathered on Wednesday, September 27 in the gymnasium at St. Francis DeSales High School for the 10th Annual "Friends in the Courtyard" Wine Tasting and Auction. The gymnasium was transformed into an a beautiful, rustic outdoor vineyard; a special thank you to Ciminellos Inc. Landscaping and Garden Center for their help with this wonderful transformation.
The community came together to sample the finest wines from around the world plus a variety of beers from a local brewery. Guests also enjoyed an Italian feast from Carfagna's and were able to bid on 200 silent and live auction items. In addition to sampling wine and bidding on silent auction, guests competed against each other in a Reverse Raffle. Funds from the Reverse Raffle are being used for various needs in our Campus Ministry department. The event raised over $46,000 (net), $5,000 over last year's event. Proceeds from "Friends in the Courtyard" provide financial support to our co-curricular programs including athletics, band, drama, and over 30 scholastic and interest-based clubs. We are grateful for the help of our dedicated volunteers, donors, and sponsors for making "Friends in the Courtyard" Wine Tasting and Auction a successful and fantastic event. A BIG thank you to our event chairs; Sam and Jeannene Carfagna and Nicole Clayton plus other committee members including Kyrsta Wilcox, Pakie McGinnis, Karen Richards, and Cathy Wickert for giving their time and talent. They all worked many long hours in the organization of the event.

A BIG thank you to those who gave during the Columbus Foundation's Big Give, a one-day philanthropic rally. Donations to St. Francis DeSales High School totaled $12,300 with 105 donors.
The Big Give was a kickoff to this year's Annual Giving. Annual Giving makes up the ongoing financial support provided by alumni, parents, faculty and staff, parents of alumni, grandparents, and friends every year. Annual gifts immediately act on programs and opportunities, including scholarships, upgrades in technology, curriculum development, student leadership and service opportunities, and support for arts and athletics. Simply put, each dollar you donate directly improves the experience for our talented, unique students.
If you were not able to donate during The Big Give, you can still give your Annual Gift during the Holiday Give in November and December. Look for more information on how you can donate on Giving Tuesday on November 28 or during the Holiday Give in an upcoming DeTales.

From the moment you walk through our doors, you will be immersed in the rich tradition of St. Francis DeSales High School. Current students and parents will guide you on a tour of the campus, offering the opportunity for one-on-one questions. Optional speaker presentations, classroom demonstrations and labs, as well as performances from our performing arts department are scheduled throughout the day. Or meet with one of our teachers, advisors or coaches in designated areas throughout the building to learn more about our nationally recognized, U.S. Department of Education Blue Ribbon school.

Loving Father, With all the saints whose lives have pleased You, in faith, I give You thanks and praise. For myself and loved ones who have gone before me, in faith, I pray that we will share eternal life with You. For all souls who did not come to know You here, in faith, I pray with hope in Your mercy. For every soul longing for resurrection, in faith, I pray with trust in Your compassion. Knowing that saints were sometimes sinners, in faith, I pray that You will work through me. With gratitude for the example of the saintly, in faith, I pray that my life, too, will give You glory. Amen.
