Meet the Author!  Club Book presents Allen Eskens
Minnesota lawyer-turned-novelist Allen Eskens burst onto the thrillers scene in 2014 with his "compulsively suspenseful" ( Bookpage) mystery The Life We Bury, about a struggling student's English assignment that turns into a mission to solve a 30-year-old murder.

His newest book, The Deep Dark Descending, debuted in October, and centers around homicide detective Max Rupert, a veteran cop who struggles to balance his professional integrity with a desire for personal vengeance after the shocking revelation that the hit-and-run accident that killed his wife was no accident after all.

This FREE event will be held on Wednesday, November 8th, 7:00-8:00 pm at the Prior Lake Public Library/Club Prior, located at 16210 Eagle Creek Ave. in Prior Lake.  Seating is first-come first served, and doors will open 45 minutes before the program begins. Arrive early to guarantee your spot.  Books will be available for purchase, and the author will sign copies after the program.

Russia's great folk tradition came to include such handmade crafts as toys, embroidery, woodcarving, and nesting dolls.  Matryoshka - the painted wooden nesting doll - is familiar to many as the quintessential Russian souvenir. Pulled apart, the Matryoshka spills out smaller figures, each one inside a larger doll, until the tiniest one is revealed.  This presentation gives helpful background to the holiday nesting dolls exhibit at The Museum of Russia Art, presented by Carol Rudie, the Education Outreach Coordinator.
