Welcome back!

Sunday at Zion's:
Syslo & Syslo!

Be sure to come early to hear gathering music this Sunday! Mark Syslo and his daughter, Elizabeth, help us as we prepare our hearts this third Sunday in Advent, by playing selections on French horn and flute, along with our director of music ministry, Jane Knotek, on piano, beginning at 10:30 a.m.  with the liturgical service beginning at 10:45. Join us!

Help Us Color Christmas!

The theme of this year's Christmas eve services is, "God's Love Colors Everything." At the 5:30 p.m. family candlelight service, Pastor Bob will be telling the Christmas story using pages colored by children and adults from the congregation.

Would you and your children like your art work to be included in the story on Christmas eve? Copies of pages to be colored are available at the church, but they need to be submitted by or before December 20. After they are scanned to project on our big video screen, they will be returned on Christmas Eve (if you write your name on the page!) along with a free copy of the UCC's original 16 page coloring book!

The 7:30 p.m. candlelight communion service also will be based on this unique theme. Plan to attend, and bring a friend! .

Zion's Resumes Breakfast Ministry for Those
who are
Homeless

Our ministry started with a surprise again this fall! Since the City of Allentown was not ready on November 1 to open their warming station for people who are homeless, Zion's elders and deacons again voted to allow our Memorial Hall to be used as an emergency "stopgap" shelter. And it was a good thing we opened our doors: temperatures were dipping into the mid-30s! For seven nights we provided this overnight ministry in addition to breakfast three mornings a week.

By the end of November, we were providing meals for nearly 60 guests each Thursday, Friday and Saturday. The need is great, and the ministry is so appreciated by our guests!

As illustrated above, we depend on members like Nancy and Clarence Snyder, as well as volunteers from other churches and the community, to provide this vital ministry.

Thank you!

Remember:
Our Covered Dish Luncheon
is the Third Sunday of Every Month

... always delicious food to share...
... always delightful fellowship to enjoy ...

Plan to join us on December 18!

Where to Park when you come to Church:

Enter the Gross McGinley (Crown Tower) lot via 7th St.  DO NOT attempt to enter the lot through the alley!

Look for the blue Liberty Bell Church Parking sign at the entrance to the lot on the north side of their building (pictured here).  Thank you to Dave Dettra for his service as our volunteer parking lot attendant!

NOTE: Depending on the time you arrive, the sign may be at the lot on the south side of the building!

Remember, too, that street parking is available both on Hamilton and Seventh Streets.

If you need assistance with parking, please call the church office (610-435-2412).
